Description:

Meet Big Red! Big Red got his name from his first week as the biggest and most boisterous of the litter. He ate the most and was first to walk, run, meow, open his eyes... First to do it all! In recent weeks he's let his brother and sisters catch up, but he hasn't lost his energy and desire to play. He just added an enjoyment of snuggles. Big Red particularly likes to perch on your leg and take a nap or survey his siblings playing. He is enjoys playing with people and other cats. We have two adult fixed males who enjoy playing with the kittens and we frequently have people come by at weighing time to socialize them, and occasionally they bring their cats to play too!

Update June 9, 2014: The kittens have all been weaned and are ready to go home to their forever homes! Momma cat had mastitis so we had to transition them to solid food soaked in KMR (kitten milk replacer) two weeks ago. Thankfully they were already curious about and nibbling at momma's solid food, so it was an easy transition. Since they started eating solid food they have grown so quickly! They are full of energy and enjoy running down the halls and exploring up and down the stairs. If you would like to meet the kittens please send me a message and schedule a time. We are located in Daejeon, in the center of the country. For information about adoption check out ARK's page on adoption. http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-process

We weigh and monitor the health of all of the kittens daily. Last week they had their first trip to the vet, who pronounced them to be in good health. Last week they started self-weaning and began using the litter box. After a rough start (I lost a couple sweaters to the litter training process) everyone is fully litter box trained!

Big Red was born on April 20, 2014, along with 4 other kittens. The mother, Daisy, was rescued in October, but unfortunately the rescuer had an un-neutered male, which after two months resulted in pregnancy. Before Daisy gave birth, the rescuer decided they couldn't care for her or the kittens any more and asked for a foster to take them. They've been with me since the day the kittens were born. They are currently up for adoption to new loving homes! The kittens will be ready to go home with their new families once they are 8-9 weeks old, starting around June 15.

I hope we can find their forever homes by the beginning of July, as I will be going to the USA for one month and haven't been able to arrange a sitter for 10 total cats (my two cats, two of my friend's cats, Daisy, and her five kittens!)
