Update: 29 July 2013
Soooo happy to announce that Misha landed safely in Canada and was collected by his new dad, Glenn. He travelled very well!

Misha will live in Canada with Glenn & his other furbaby who he adopted from Asan, Ghost! Wohoo! Thank you to everyone who helped with Misha - donors for his vet bills (Anna), the vet for giving us an amazingly hefty rescue discount, the vet groomer for bathing him free of charge, Chris for couriering Misha across & Glenn for welcoming Misha into his home.

More photos to follow!

Update: 11 July 2013
Some wonderful news for Misha! A kind person has offered to courier him over to Toronto on the 27th of July! There his new dad will be waiting for him and will take him home to Ottawa. I couldn't be happier. Thank you to everyone who has helped baby Misha in his journey. Please send good vibes his way during the journey. I can't wait to see photos of him in his new home with his new doggy sister, another ex-Asan doggy.

Update: 25 June 2013
Please help! Misha has a forever home lined up in Canada! Yay!
How can you help?
1. We need a courier to fly Misha across from Korea to OTTAWA! With the heat embargoes on at the moment, this is very tricky because he is too big to fly in-cabin.
If you are flying from Korea to Ottawa on an airline without a heat embargo, PLEASE courier Misha for us! All the paperwork, legwork etc. will be done by ME. You would not have to do anything to complicate your trip.
2. Please foster Misha until we can find a courier! I simply cannot pay to keep him boarded for any longer.
3. Share Misha's link & story! Somewhere out there, there has to be someone who can help. Please!

Update: 12 June 2013
I went to visit Misha yesterday and he got to stretch his legs with his friend Cocka. Both dogs are being boarded at the vet while they wait for their forever homes. Misha went into the vet hospital when we had a distemper scare. Although he was sickly, he didn't have distemper. He is now fully healthy & ready to go to a home. When he left the shelter he weighed in at 5.92kg & he now weighs 9.68kg! I don't think he will get much bigger than what he is now.

Although the kind vet has given me a generous discount on Misha's treatment & boarding, the funds for him are quickly running dry. He urgently needs a foster home as soon as possible. Sooner or later I am going to have to set a deadline at which I will need to send him back to the shelter. Please don't make me do that!

Please foster or adopt Misha! Contact me via e-mail: [email protected]

Update: 8 June 2013
Misha officially needs OUT! I am loathe to send him back to the shelter. Please don't make me do that! Please, please someone foster this adorable boy!! The entire vet staff are smitten with him, as am I. He is 100% healthy & has grown considerably in the last month while he has been at the vet. He is completely fine with other dogs AND cats! He is soooo lovable and loves to cuddle. He is one of the most chilled out puppies I've ever encountered.

Health status:
- Heartworm NEGATIVE. Received Heartguard on the 3rd of June.
- Has received DHPPL & Corona vaccinations.
- Still needs to have his Kennel Cough & Rabies vaccinations on the 24th of June.
- Weight: 7.78kg
- Not yet neutered (priority is having his vaccinations UTD in case he needs to go back to the shelter :( )

The kind vet gave me a 50% discount on his boarding, but I simply cannot keep him there for much longer. If you are able to foster him, please contact me on [email protected].

Update: 20 May 2013
Misha has stolen the hearts of the vet staff! He is still being boarded after we pulled him with the distemper & parvo scares at the shelter. He was a little sick, but luckily with neither distemper nor parvo. Whew! With a bit of medication and TLC in the hospital, Misha is now 100% healthy! Heartworm negative & on preventatives, and the vet started his vaccinations last week. While he sits in the vet's he is accumulating bills where that money could be spent on other animals. He is totally ready to go into a home & learn what life should be like for a dog. :)

Misha has tripled in size since I first met him at the shelter and weighs just over 7kg's. He loves to be held and will rest his head in the area where your neck and your shoulder meets. <3 Please remember that he is a puppy, so he will need a little extra patience and some chew toys. If you can open your home to him, please let me know as soon as possible! I'd like to avoid sending him back to the shelter, but we can't continue to board him indefinitely. :(

URGENT update: 23 April 2013
Due to the current distemper scare at the shelter, we are begging people to step forward as "emergency fosters" for a few dogs who we deem "at risk". Misha is one of them! He was being housed near to the dogs who have tested positive for distemper. He is not yet showing symptoms but we need to err on the side of caution. The best chance distemper-positive dogs have is to be able to rest comfortably, be monitored closely, and have round the clock access to food and water.

If you have no dogs, parrots and/or are a cat-only home, PLEASE consider opening your home to one of these pups for a month or so. ALL COSTS WOULD BE COVERED and unlike our usual 'until adopted' contingency, this would be a short term EMERGENCY situation.

Please contact me here on [email protected] if you can help.

We also urgently need to raise funds to (1) treat the dogs already infected and (2) administer Sears plasma to those who we think may have been exposed. Please join the Facebook fundraiser event here and encourage your friends and family to donate! https://www.facebook.com/events/450980324984841/

--------------------------------------------------------------------------

Misha is a tiny puppy who is completely overwhelmed with the place that he is currently living. He was rescued from a city pound by Mr Park 2 weeks ago and is currently living at Asan shelter in a pen with Ginger Snap.

He has tiny baby teeth and tiny testicles, so I think he is still really, really young. Poor baby! He just loves to be held and will spend ALL day on your lap or in your arms if you'll let him. He is also really quiet and seems quite dazed and confused by his surroundings. :( I worry about him growing up in such a stressful environment with little daily human interaction.

Please consider fostering or adopting this little boy. It's urgent that he gets into a home as soon as possible!

First time meeting this special little guy and his adorable paws. Glenn spent a lot of time just holding this warm buddy who seemed to love his time out in the sun. Misha got lots of treats, eggs, fresh food and water, plus a Frontline dosage to keep him pest free.

I hope to spend more time getting to know him soon. He is too cute to last here for very long!

Watch Misha cavorting around with Cocka (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/dog/1968) in the vet's office. (Bear in mind both dogs have been caged for the last few weeks so they are pretty full of energy!)
