Hangeun

Update of the most awesome kind - Hangeun has been adopted by a fantastic family! He is now a family pet with a little boy who loves to give him treats!
I will miss him, but am SO happy - and relieved - for him!
October update: Due to my dog hating neighbours, who for the past 2.5 months had no idea Hangeun was staying with me because he is so quiet, poor Hangeun is now in an emergency situation. He is currently boarding at the vet's while I look for a new situation for him. He desperately needs a new foster home, or better yet - to be adopted asap. My neighbours, after seeing me return from the vet with him, made up a story and lied to our building management telling them that I have a very loud dog who cries all of the time. So management started getting after me about him, and my neighbours have been at my window peering, listening, and waiting for ANY sign of him so they can....??? He is safe at the vet's, but he can not stay there for more than a week. The funds just aren't there, and for a dog in need of socialisation and assurance, this is not the place for him. Can you please help???

I found Hangeun (Korean for 'lucky') running in and out of traffic at a busy intersection. As I tried in vein to get him out of traffic and to catch him, he was hit - hard - right in front of me by a van. Poor Hangeun, in shock and full of adrenaline, fled the scene and it took hours to track him down and then catch him.
Miraculously, he was unharmed by the van, but shows all the signs of having been a chain dog. Dermatitis - especially on the feet, ticks, a worn spot around his neck... and, heart worms. He also had a bowel packed with sand from eating mud.
As of now, he is adjusting to life in a safe home, with regular meals of real food - he does a happy two legged dance at meal time - SO cute! And is being treated for the heart worms. The ticks are gone, and his skin is clearing up.
He is the sweetest little dog, and really really deserves a very loving forever home. This dog has a LOT of love to give to the right person!!!
Hangeun will be staying with me until he has successfully beaten the horrible heartworms, after that - off to warm and cheer up your home???

Update: Hangeun continues to do well, so we are both anxious for his heartworms test to come back negative so that he can start to have more fun! And be ready to move to his forever home! He is looking for that perfect home now, but won't be able to move into it until he gets that test. We expect this to happen soon, as he has no symptoms of active heartworm.
