Alaska!
1/22.. See you later shelter.. I was adopted today!!! Good luck to Alaska and her mom on their new life together!

1/1/2012-- Still available!! Alaska was out enjoying the snow today with her bff pen mate. Both were munching on snacks but pretty bummed the volunteers couldnt come play inside (fear of sliding down the ice patches!!!)

Alaska.. white as snow, and a small ball of fluff. Alaska is a true sweetheart. She resembles a husky (without the size), and knows that her personality is only part of her charm. She's been searching for a home, and is only now starting to ask for a little bit of help here online. (Shes heard through all the other pups that her chances are greater if she puts herself out there).. Shy, but also modest!! Shes hoping that a match comes along and takes her home to a life of leisure and lots of play. This girl truely is a sweetie and deserves a fresh start at life.

Even though shes full of fluff, shes hoping to settle into a warm bed at night and avoid all the upcoming freezing temperature. (Shes recently been moved up to a larger area. Now shes got some friend companionship while she waits it out)

Asaska is such a cutie! She lives up in a pen on the hill now and she doesn't like it up there much (those noisy spaniels next door drive her nuts!) She likes her cage mates though and it's fun to be able to run around and stretch her legs but she'd be overjoied to have a person to call her own. She's a fun dog, bouncy and happy - can you give her a fun home?

I am very happy to report that Alaska seems to be very happy in her new home and is already playing with her new toys and her two sisters--Mia, a Sheltie and Bella, a Yorkie. I think she will easily adjust to the good life for the rest of her life!!

We have officially named Alaska "Tala" which means wolf in Native American. We think she looks like a tiny white wolf in the wild. She has been SOOO good and hasn't had one accident in the house. She loves chewing on rawhides and playing chase with us and her two sisters, but is still getting used to the concept of not having to guard all her toys and treats. I think her first 24 hours have been spectacular and will continue to get better and better every day!
I don't know how Anne Marie got the new photos up, but here is the link to see the latest ones!

UPDATE ON TALA:
Tala is doing fantastically well and started playing chase with Bella, our yorkie. She is still a little Leary of Mia, our sheltie, but I'm starting to think it is a size thing as Mia has never threatened Tala with anything. Any insight would be helpful if you know any history of bigger dogs and her behavior. Feeding time is very peaceful and Tala has no problem with
anyone touching her food or her sisters going near her food bowl while she's eating. She no longer tries to hide every bone or rawhide in the house. She knows there are plenty to go around! As much as she loves the outdoors, she is quite happy to come back into the warmth of our home and curl up either on Beth's bed or her second favorite place in the house which is the electric blanket on the sofa. She sleeps more soundly and will lay on her back with her paws up in the air--very content! She is dreaming now and it's cute watching her. We will continue to encourage playing with Mia---Mia so wants to play with -Tala! Hopefully my next update will come with good news. I believe Tala knows she has been rescued and will live the rest of her life warm with a full belly and a family that can't stop loving her!
I put new photos up on my facebook album. Please take a look at the girls playing earlier today!!! With any help Sofia will put them on for me since I am obviously bad at it!!

UPDATE:
Tala went to the vet yesterday and in in top notch health! Heartworm and parasite tests came out NEGATIVE! She is now microchipped (which she didn't like at all, not that I blame her) and is still doing great! She has another friend that was adopted several months ago (Angel) and we are puppy sitting her until Tuesday so we have FOUR dogs in the house!!
