UPDATE, September 7
Momo is heartworm negative and just got a foster family! Details in a recent post below.

UPDATE, July 14
Putting up a new profile of Momo--she got some grooming and looks SO cute. Momo is a happy, happy dog, despite very rough circumstances of being at a shelter for coming up on a year. Momo has not yet lost hope. Is Momo your dog? Come and meet her!

UPDATE: Happy, buoyant Momo is still at the shelter. Momo loves life. She made it through the winter and the spring, facing a hot summer but alive and well, waiting for her family to come get her.

FIRST POSTING: I noticed Momo in the last cage, jumping up so happily. She had been bitten on her back by another dog, and it looked like it was a big bite for her small body, but the hair is starting to grow over and she looks to be in good health.

Because her hair is so long and nearly covering her eyes, and because she's small and in the last cage, I almost overlooked her, but she was pure love and joy. She was very fun to walk, and was loving being out with people and other dogs. She didn't let the attack color her view of the world.

Look at her photo--her feet almost don't touch the ground from happiness.
She is available for adoption or foster. Please consider Momo! The cold winter is coming and little dogs like Momo suffer the most in the cold.

Adoption Fee: ₩50,000
Location: Seoul - 서울
Living Situation: In foster care
Adopted From: Asan Shelter

A recent picture of happy Momo....

Momo is still available. Momo is a blast of energy, but loves to cuddle and be pet. She is recovering nicely from being bitten by another dog prior to coming to the shelter. The hair is filling in nicely. She needs a good groomin' and a little lovin'. Consider this wonderful character, full of dog-ness goodness.

Momo--wants to love and be loved. Momo is joyful! Help Momo get out of the shelter and into a warm and safe home.

The new photo is a good one - maybe it should be his profile photo? You can see his cheerful face much better.

A couple more photos of lively Momo...

Momo got a nice walk and cuddle from a volunteer this weekend. He'd really like to do it every day! :) Please consider him!

I haven't seen Momo in a few months as I've been on vacation. Momo has matured (past puppydom?) and she is still super friendly and happy-happy-happy but not at all hyped up. Also, before coming to the shelter, she was bit in the back by another dog, but that is all fine now. The hair has totally grown over and you would never know he had had an injury. Here are pictures of today's trip. I enjoyed walking and cuddling Momo. Consider this sweet dog!

annemariew's picture

Momo is the sweetest! I gave her a walk and she wolfed down some special canned food that someone kindly donated. Momo likes other dogs a lot--big dogs, small dogs. Momo is curious about the world.

Momo was getting her hair shaved this week, so hopefully she will be much cooler during the summer.

Is Momo a male or a female?
Sounds like a sweetie either way :D

annemariew's picture

Momo is still available, sweet thing. One of her buddies at the shelter died (Lani :( Momo still keeps on, but she could really use a foster or a home. She is a great dog, waiting to be noticed. Come and meet this sweet happy dog.

Danomano's picture

Still upbeat and hanging out! Has a good appetite!

allisondyoung's picture

Momo is such a sweet little girl! She got a haircut and seems a lot more comfortable now. She also got a dose of Frontline today.

annemariew's picture

Momo is a girl--sorry for the confusion! Originally I had put unknown on the gender and then somehow slipped into "he" on the subsequent postings. But Allison confirmed that sweet Momo is indeed a female.

Look at how cute she looks with that summer cut! Whoever groomed her just before that and then the summer cut did a great job. I miss Momo and hope that she finds her forever home. It feels like she has almost grown up at the shelter. Momo is still quite young--and full of love and joy. I'm sure she would keep her family entertained and would be so much fun to have as a member of a family. Come and say hello to sweet Momo! Momo would also be very happy for a foster home, too.

clare_bell's picture

Oh my goodness Momo!! Look at you with your beautiful haircut!! What a little stunner you are!

Momo is one awesome dog! Super friendly and well mannered, she loves human company and also very easy going in the company of other dogs, both young puppies and older dogs. It was pleasure to be in your company today Momo and may you find the most loving home which you deserve!

Gosh, I love Momo! What a gem! :)

annemariew's picture

Thanks Linhorobin for the video--super cute! I am completely smitten with Momo, too. I pray that she is safe thru the storm and all the other dogs and cats at Asan.

Yes! I second that!

Momo seems to be improving at the vet's. Looking intensely for a foster!!!

marlajoy's picture

Why is she at the vet's?!

clare_bell's picture

She went in pre-foster home...She wasn't well but is fine now. More news coming soon.

clare_bell's picture

Momo :)

After getting her eyes cleaned. She loves to sit in laps.Puppy eyes!
marlajoy's picture

OH MY GOSH! She may be the cutest dog alive! - next to my own dogs, of course ;)

annemariew's picture

Great news! Momo wasn't feeling well (panting and disoriented), and was taken from Asan to the vet's. They suspected heat stroke, and decided to run tests and keep her at the vet for observation over a few days. And as they suspected, they diagnosed her with heat stroke. The vet has now given her the ALL CLEAR and Momo is in good health. Momo's blood tests were all normal. Yay Momo!

Great news! Mr Park/Asan Shelter had Momo tested for heartworms and she is negative....woohoo!

Great news! Momo found a foster family. Erinn will be fostering her, and Momo will also have 2 foster doggy siblings.

************Let's help Momo finish her journey to a forever home now--her last step after waiting a year at the shelter. If you are interested in a spunky, cute, funny, joyful little dog with a big personality, consider Momo. She is in foster care in Seoul.************

This dog has the most hilarious expressions I've ever seen! I can see why everyone is so smitten with her :) I always HATE the first week of fostering, I'll admit it. Its a confusing, frustrating time where the new dog gets into the swing of things. So far Momo's settling in with little trouble. Admirably I haven't heard a single bark out of her despite my [email protected]$$, drunk neighbors shouting far and wide at stupid o'clock and little kids screaming past the open windows. Another pleasant surprise is even though she had a peepad, she's been holding her bladder while she's in the pen, so when I take her out with my dogs she takes the cue to go potty! Right now she's reclining quietly on her pillow like she's been here much longer than a day :)

It was expressed that she's unknown with cats. We ran into the local neighborhood stray (gave the cat a heart attack ha ha) and Momo showed no interest at all. She just looked then continued on her way.

fritzmarley's picture

Great to hear that Momo is settling in well!

eveliens's picture

Now that its been a couple of days, I can tell y'all a bit more about Momo. Momo is one of those dogs that is so HAPPY and GRATEFUL to have a home to be in. I've fostered dogs before that really didn't care. She really doesn't know up from down with apartment living but she's trying so hard to understand. Potty training is going great - only 1.5 accidents (I say half an accident because I caught her before she started and she IMMEDIATELY stopped). She hasn't tried to chew anything and knows to stay off the bed. We're working on giving her some confidence and desensitizing her to all the city noises. She looks like a terrier but her coat isn't really like a terriers. With her stumpy butt, beard and sturdy build I wonder if she has schnauzer in her. Plus she's so smart and easily trained - we haven't started anything official but she's working on some basic NIFIL principles (nothing is free in life).

clare_bell's picture

Yay Momo!! You have a fabulous foster mom who is going to find you that perfect forever home!! :D Thank you for the updates, love seeing her pretty little face.

eveliens's picture

Wow, Momo got out of her pen yesterday while I was at work. The great news is she didn't chew up or destroy ANYTHING! She didn't even get into the trash bag or jump on my bed (there is so much junk on it maybe she couldn't haha). The bad news is Rome wasn't built in a day and a dog isn't potty trained in less than a week :/ When she's kept in the pen she's perfect. I do leave her out at night and haven't had a single accident. I think in another week or two she should have it down - once her mind and bladder are redirected after living most of her life in a pen where she went whenever/where ever.

She wants to be as close to me as possible, so I always look down next to my bed to see a pile of 3 dogs. They don't actually touch each other but they cram together so they can keep an eye on me. I'm also kind of regretting teaching her to say please (sit) for attention. Every time I bend over to do something I look up into her pleading eyes as she is sitting as close to me as she can waiting for attention. Obviously if I'm down on her level I did it to pet her not because I was picking something up or sweeping the floor!

Definitely a lovely, lovely dog. I can't believe she's been in the shelter for so long and is so well mannered!

eveliens's picture

Momo is doing quite well. She's settling into being in a home and learning to enjoy random snacks. She's not really interested in toys but loves cuddles and walks!

Hello, there are two dogs that we are interested in adopting and Momo is one of them. We would like to visit Momo. How do we go about doing that? We are in Seoul and free this Chusok weekend.

Thanks.

megs's picture

That's great!

marlajoy's picture

Yay Momo!! I would love to see pictures of Momo in her new home!! :)

annemariew's picture

Can we have pictures, please? How is Momo doing? Thinking about sweet Momo!

eveliens's picture

"Everything is great with our Momo! I took her to the vet for a check up and she is all good! They think she is about 5 years old and still not sure if she is fixed or if she had another kind of surgery.

Other than that there isn't very much to report! She got the golden treatment when my mom came to visit for 2 weeks. I think she went for 10 walks a day! She loved it! "

marlajoy's picture

Pictures?! Please?! :)

dianeb's picture

Hi everyone! I'm Momo's owner and she is doing great! She is enjoying her life here in Cheongju with my boyfriend and I. She is meeting a ton of new people, playing outside off of her leash, and going on 4 walks a day!
Here are some pictures of her this morning waiting patiently for her walk.

annemariew's picture

Wow, I was just thinking of Momo. She looks great! So glad she has a nice home. Thank you!
