Her foster mum is head over heels in love with her and can't imagine giving her back to BAPS. So congratulations Emily you have an amazing new home!

Emily is currently in foster care and doing really well. She's had lots of time out and about exploring her neighbourhood. She's very friendly and affectionate towards people and gets on well with other dogs. She's young and has still got some things to learn but she's proving to be a wonderful girl.

Introducing Emily the gorgeous new addition at BAPS. Emily arrived on Sunday and will be staying with us until a lucky person takes her home. She is one of the most startlingly beautiful dogs, she looks like a mini malmamute, sounds ridiculous but it works. Emily is an awesome little dog, the vet estimates that she is about 6-9 months old so she will grow a little bigger. At the moment she weighs around 10kg but that will change. Emily is very young and very trainable. She arrived scared but she soon relaxed after a kind volunteer focused on her alone and took her on two and a half walks. She was very good on the lead, it is clear that she isn't used to walking but she picked it up quickly. She was very excited and seemed to enjoy all the sniffs. She is still very much a puppy and wants to play with every dog near her. It would be great if she didn't spend too long at BAPS and was able to enjoy the last of her puppyhood in a home that cares.

Temperament- She seems to be very much a puppy and wants to play. But, she is fairly docile when sat next to you and seems to like attention and pats more than playing. Obviously we don't know in a shelter but she didn't bark at all. She was very scared at first (so would I be) but there was no aggression. Instead she chose to slink backwards and retreat.

History- Emily is quite an important dog here at BAPS at the moment,'Emma' the dog who was rescued the previous week unfortunately passed away. But, it was Emma's passing and cremating that led to Emily being discovered. We don't know much of her history beyond she has been at the pound for a while.

Medical history- Emily is not up to date on her vaccinations yet but is in the process of being given them. She is heartworm negative but does need to be spayed.

We do our best at BAPS to make sure that the families and the dogs are the right fit. We sincerely care about the well-being of our dogs and their new families. Therefore, there are a few steps you need to go through to be able to adopt a BAPS dog.
1) Please complete the adoption application at http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-application.
2) To make sure new families are sincere, we ask you to volunteer one week before taking the dog home. On the second week, after volunteering, you are welcome to take the dog home. Volunteers walk, play with, and pet shelter dogs on Sundays from 11-3.
3) After bringing the dog home, you'll get all the benefits of adoption, but the adoption won't be considered complete until a month long trial has been completed. This is just to make sure that the dog fits in with your family.

*BAPS also has a sponsorship program. Anyone interested can give 200,000 won for a dog to have their full health check, be neutered or spayed, and get any necessary dental work. If you are interested in sponsoring Emily, please let me know!

*Poor Emily is back at BAPS through no fault of her own. She is an amazing dog but unfortunately there was a change of personal circumstances so her new parents brought her back. She loved having a home and would be very grateful for another one. Please consider coming to meet this gorgeous girl and making her yours.

Update 24th March
Yesterday Emily went into foster care with one of our regular volunteers. This will be a great opportunity for young Emily to get some training on how to be a wonderful companion.

*Update 23rd March*
Emily got two long walks today with a volunteer who showered her in love. She is a puller on the leash so would need to be trained to not do that. She is a lovely dog though with a beautiful personality and stunning good looks. She is a puppy so has been known to chew on things, but this is easily fixed through training. She would make the perfect running/hiking companion and loves to be with you in the house. She is very much about the love and positive reassurance so would be very easy to train if you are willing to take the time to shower her with praise and of course some yummy treats.

*Update 17th February

Emily has had so much interest over the last couple of weeks and it seems as though quite a few people have come to see her. She finally met her special people this weekend, she has gone home with a very nice couple who are very excited about making her part of their family. Fingers crossed that it all works out well and Emily has found her forever home.

We are very interested in this little baby ball of fur . When would be the best time to make a visit down there?

Hi, I'm sorry, we only do direct adoptions to individuals, as we have a good system of care until adoptions.
Keep doing the work you do!
