Description:

Willy needs a foster family or a forever home ASAP. He is an adorable little dog. He is good with people and even children. I have never seen him get aggressive. He is very smart too. I rescued this dog, but due to unforeseeable family circumstance beyond my control, I am not able to keep him. I do not want to share my story here, but if you would like to know, please email me. I do not want to return him to the shelter and would like to find a forever home or a foster family. He has a place to stay until the end of the month, and maybe a couple more weeks after that. The vet says he is about 1 1/2 years old. They say he is a shitz tzu, but he looks mixed. Possibly terrier mix?s. He is a little over 3 kg.

He is a rather calm dog. He is smart. He learned how to "sit" and "down". He is learning how to fetch now. He still needs to practice, but he learns quickly. He is very good around people. He doesn't bark at people or when we are outside. He is good around dogs too.

He is a very cute dog, and people are drawn to him. Whenever we go out, everyone wants to pet him, and he lets them. This weekend we were at a picnic and there were many kids that wanted to touch him and play with him. He didn't get mad and seemed to enjoy the attention. The only time he barked was when around 15 kids barked at him. He barked back, but when they stopped, he stopped too. We had him on the mat with us while we ate, and he didn't beg for food. He sniffed the food and I told him to sit and he obeyed. He was in his crate during the 1 1/2 hour car ride to the picnic and he did well.

Potty Training:
He is not completely house broken, but he is doing very well. I have him on a schedule and he does his business outside. Once he is done, I let him roam around the house and he usually plays with his toys, chews his bone, or looks out the window. At night, I used to crate him, but now I tether him and he hasn't had an accident through out the night. I think he is very close to being completely house broken.

Walking on leash:
He is learning to walk on a leash. He has made significant progress and was able to walk for around 10 minutes yesterday with encouragement (praise, treats). He will still stop and pull on the leash sometimes, but he is able to keep focused if I redirect him. He will need someone to continue teaching him to walk confidently on a leash.

Barking:
Willy does not bark excessively. He barks a little when we leave the house. He used to bark when he heard the front door, but he doesn't seem to do that anymore. He barks very little during the day. He does bark to sudden sounds. If I walk him and play with him during the day, he goes to sleep easily without a fuss.

Willy is a great dog and really deserves a great forever home. He is happy to just sit, lie beside you and loves to be petted. When I am in the kitchen, he will just come and sit and watch me. He just loves to just "chill" next to you.
