Geronimo

Meet little Geronimo! This little guy is a seven week old little kitten that is a little ball full of personality! Sadly, Geronimo was found in a storm drain along with his incredibly feral mom and a sibling. The human rescuers were only trying to open the storm drain to let all three of them run back to wherever they were before, but the mama ran off and left her two babies in the drain. The humans waited around for a few hours in the distance to see if the mama would return for her babies, but alas, she did not. Once the humans got a better look, they realized Geronimo's sibling had already been dead for a while, so they took him in to my vet clinic.

Geronimo was terrified of people when he came into our clinic and tried to hide in the very back of the cage. He hissed and shook anytime anyone would try to interact with him. Luckily, for us as well as Geronimo, we had another adult cat named Lady in our clinic. Lady was amazing with Geronimo and took him on as her own. She played, cleaned, nursed, and even disciplined him! Lady showed Geronimo that people were nothing to be scared of and that we are actually quite fun. Geronimo has NO issues with being handled now and even runs up and attacks the cage door so he can be released to romp around the clinic. He even learned to retract his claws when he wants to play or even be put down on the ground. Thank you, Lady for making this little guy a bit more domesticated :)

Geronimo has turned into such a squirt. He loves to chase his tail and chew on his thigh. He also has loves to chase things and bat at anything that dangles or moves (such as the pen in my hand while I am writing)! He also enjoys jumping off of things. He spreads his arms out every time; I yell "GERONIMO" every time he jumps from something (hence his name).

Even though Geronimo is a healthy little bean now, the poor little guy was sick when we first got. He had to endure two weeks of eye drops and antibiotics, but he is in the all clear now! He is current on all of his vaccines thus far and had been dewormed about two times since he has been with us. He also tested negative for FeLV/FIV/Heartworm and will be given an ISO compliant microchip soon!

Geronimo has been officially ADOPTED!!!! This little cutie is now living his wonderful new life with his mom, dad, and cat brother. His older brother has taken him underneath his wing and loves to groom and play with him. Geronimo has definitely found his perfect family and never has to worry about a thing ever again.
