Description:

Dayji went to his new home today! We know he's going to be very happy there. Many thanks to the ARK community for creating such an amazing site and for providing the support needed to find homes for these wonderful animals! Keep up the good work!

He's fully recovered from his neutering surgery, and he's as cute and cuddly as he ever was. (The surgery, by the way, is the reason the adoption fee is a bit higher than some of the other cats on the site. We were going to wait, but we thought getting him neutered would help make him more adoptable).

Edit:

1. I've changed the age to "kitten". A friend (who knows more than we do!) said that if he's older than a year, it can't be much. He's growing fast, but he's still a kitten at heart!

2. October 16, 2012 -- Dayji at the vet getting neutered tonight! If anyone needs a vet in Cheongju, "Choice Veterinary Clinic" in Bokdae 1Dong (near the Lotteria) is awesome. They're very small, but super friendly and very sympathetic to rescuing animals!

3. My wife has named him "Dayji" (a cuter version of 'dwaeji - pig') because he eats a lot and has put on a lot of weight since we took him in. We're controlling his diet now that he's settled in and gotten comfortable.
__________
We found this little guy in the parking area outside our apartment. A local middle school girl had been feeding him and giving him fresh water for a few days, but she was sure that he had an owner nearby because he is so friendly. We left him alone, assuming that she was right and that his owner would soon claim him. A couple of days passed and he was still out there crying for food in the evenings, so we took him in, gave him a bath and a good meal. We put posters up around the neighbourhood and talked to some local business owners, but no one knows anything about him.

When we brought him in, we were shocked at how calm and friendly he was right away! It's pretty clear that he has been abandoned or has run away from home. Here's a video of him playing with a piece of string within 20 minutes of coming inside:

Here he is not quite getting the hang of his new treats!

It's imperative that we find a home for this cat as soon as possible. He craves attention and my wife and I just don't have time to give it to him. We're gone for long periods of time during the day and when we come home he cries and begs for attention. He loves physical contact; he falls asleep almost instantly if I just put my hand on him (without even petting!) He can be a bit vocal, but we're sure that once he settles into a home he'll be fine.

He's 100% litter trained (which was a pleasant surprise!). We haven't had a chance to get him to the vet for a checkup yet, but he seems very healthy. We don't think he's neutered (we can't find a scar).

We think he would do very well in a home with another cat or even a dog. He's so friendly and loves to play, but he doesn't like the toys we got him (yet). The string and a laser pointer work every time, though! He really is a great cat with tons of personality, and it breaks our hearts that we can't give him the love he deserves.

We'll send along his litter box, food bowl, toys, and whatever food and litter we have to Dayji's new home!

Where did you find him?!?
Our cat Sebastian ran away about 4 weeks ago and we have not been able to find him. He is chipped. This cat looks a lot like him but can't tell because the pictures aren't clear enough! We lost him in Dongducheon. He was wearing a blue collar with a bell and has a short tail. He has aqua colored eyes!

We're in Cheongju, Chungcheongbuk-do so I doubt that Sebastian found his way down here. Also, our little no-namer has yellow eyes and had no collar when we found him. Sorry about that! Good luck finding Sebastian!

Okay. Thanks anyway. Hope this guy finds a home!
