Please help heartworm positive, paralysed Kili.

24 March 2014:
Thank you to all of Kili's supporters! She has finished her heartworm treatment and is in foster care with me and my two dogs. She is SO happy & I hope we can find the perfect forever home for her sooner rather than later. :) She loves going on walks and even runs around because she is a strong little girl who was given a CHANCE. Thank you everyone!

Please watch her profile and her Facebook album for regular updates.

5 Feb 2014:
We have just W126,000 left to go. Today is the day that Kili begins her pre-heartworm treatment medication. Please keep her in your thoughts and thank you so much for all the support. Watch what you have helped to achieve!

9 Jan 2014:
Thank you so much for helping Kili! She is doing SO well at the vet & has become even more of a lovebug than before. We only have W326,000 left to raise. If you are a pet-free home, please consider fostering Kili.

26 Dec 2013:
Kili can now RUN! :)

14 Dec 2013:
Only a week. ONE WEEK! And she can walk.

I hadn't been in to see her for a week. During that time one of the vet nurses was doing 10-min exercises, 3 x a day with her. (Basically helping her into a standing position and then allowing her to just stand up.) I couldn't believe my eyes when I went in to visit and they excitedly brought her out & showed me this:

Thank goodness Mr Park saw this girl and decided to give her a chance. So many people would turn the other way. So many people do not realise the absolute joy & love that all animals bring. Special needs animals have been some of the absolute best I have had the privilege of fostering. Watching them conquer each hurdle without grumbling, whining or complaining is truly inspirational. I know that sounds cheesy, but it's true.

Thank you to those who have contributed to helping Kili thus far. I will get a FULL price breakdown from the doc no later than this weekend. (I'm sorry, I haven't had time to sit down with him and go through everything yet.)

12 Dec 2013:
Thank you for your support! We have raised W300,000 so far. Photos will be posted on Kili's adoption profile today. :)

8 Dec 2013:
Some more donations received & I went to see the little girl today. Photos coming soon! Thank you for your support!

6 Dec 2013:
First donation has been received! Thank you Valerie!

*********************************************************************************

This sweet little girl has suffered some injuries and neglect in her life. For an in-depth read of her rescue story, health status etc., please read her profile here

I am starting up this fundraiser in the hopes that it can cover the cost of her treatment and boarding, and later perhaps look at a wheelchair for her. I will give a VERY detailed breakdown of costs as soon as I can get them from the vet and will update here regularly. Based on my experience with Dr Choi at AnyPet, I have a rough idea of costs which I will give here to get the ball rolling:

**********************************************************************************

Full health check = approx. W200,000 including titre test, x-rays, h/w test, full bloodwork.
Vaccinations = W30,000 (initial)
Heartworm treatment = W400,000
Boarding @ W10,000 per day for 30 days (hoping we can find a foster before this) = W300,000

(Total required = W930,000)

Donations received thus far:
W804,000

Still to raise:
***W126,000***

******************************************************************************

Please consider donating to help this girl feel comfortable and happy. She certainly deserves it!

She looks beautiful and so sweet. I'm amazed at how she is able to sit up now. I hope she gets a wonderful home and she can continue to get better. Hope to see picture of her eventually walking.

Do you have a cat? Or know anyone who has a cat? (Uh...yes!)

Well, this awesome lady: https://www.facebook.com/priscilla.nanni.7 is making catnip balls and all the proceeds are going to this fundraiser for Kili!

Please support her, support Kili & make a kitty happy in the process. :)

How is Kili's walking coming along? She seems such a sweet dog and reminds me of my own pup, Lois. Good luck, I hope her heartworm treatment goes well? Does she have a calm home to recover in yet?

clare_bell's picture

Hi! She really does resemble Lois! (I'm assuming Lois is in your profile pic?) She is doing SO well. The little girl can run now, nevermind walk! One of her hind legs still hangs and that will never change, but she is awesome on 3 legs.

Sadly no, she has not found a foster home yet. :( Please spread the word about Kili! I hope to get more photos and videos in the next week.
