Description:

Pom is a very sweet gentle dog. She's just over a year and a half old, and she act quite young. She is a little shy at first, but is friendly after a few minutes when meeting new people. She is playful and silly like a puppy, but she also seems very intelligent and trainable. She walks well on a leash; however, with new people, she can be timid and needs patience. She never shows aggression with other dogs. She is quite a beautiful dog, and looks very happy and healthy. Still, she craves attention, and it seems a shame that such a nice young dog doesn't have a home of her own. Please consider fostering or adopting Pom. If you would like to meet her, please contact me. Pom would be very happy to meet you!

UPDATE: Pom has been doing great in her foster home! She is still available for adoption.

Adoption Fee: ₩50,000
Location: Daejeon - 대전
Living Situation: In foster care
Adopted From: Daejeon Paws

I think this may be little Ms. Madeline. We had taken her in last year and she IS trained... in both English and Italian. I have the commands and hand gestures if anyone can try them out and confirm she is who I think she is.

sit:seduto (two fingers together, like a bull) - down:terra (flat palm moving downward) - stay:resta (flat palm in stop motion) and she also knew how to deliver paper bags to another person. She will probably be a little rusty... but should know a little. She was also VERY much house trained when I had her.

Maddie is microchipped and fixed as well! If she can be scanned - it should show up.
We had to rehome her through ARK last year because my family was going through extreme health issues. I found out the family we rehomed her with gave her up without telling me where she went and I couldn't find her afterward. She is SO incredibly loved and is truly intelligent. Maddie was fully trained by the time she was 5 months.

If this is Maddie and there is any risk of her being put down, I would be more than willing to foster her. My family is still going through hardships - but we would do anything to keep this sweet girl safe.

She was still a young puppy when I trained her and her features may have changed a bit... which is why I'm not entirely sure if this is the same dog.

Someone's coming to meet Pom this weekend, so maybe her luck is about to change... :)

Pom is still waiting. She is a lovely sweet dog, but I fear that the longer she stays in the shelter, she is becoming more timid with strangers. She shows a LOT of interest in people, but needs a lot more interaction. If you have free time and would like to help socialize a very nice young dog, please come by and spend a little time with Pom. With a little love, I'm sure she could be a great pal!

Is Pom still available?

Did Pom's meeting go well? I meet her a long time ago and she is beautiful. I bet she's one of those dogs who would really shine if she had a person and more one on one time..

It went ok, but she was quite shy, and the couple who were interested in her decided to adopt a dog who would be a little easier from the start. Pom is a darling dog, but as you said, she needs more one-on-one time to get used to being around strangers. For someone who has a lot of experience with dogs or a lot of patience, she would be great.

Pom went into foster care this evening! Her new foster carers have a lot of experience with dogs, and they hope to help her to get used to living with people. Thanks so much for giving her a chance!

I ran into Pom on her walkies today in Daejeon, she is so beautiful and sweet! I wish her and her foster parents all the best.

We just wanted to give an update on Pom. She is doing very well with us in her new foster home. She was very shy and quivered a lot at first, but now she loves to cuddle and follows us wherever we go. Her leash training is showing great improvement. She gets three walks a day, and especially loves going to Galma park. She's been the perfect apartment pet, as she rarely makes any noise and is already pee pad trained. She had her first vet appointment today and behaved very well, though seemed relieved to come back home.

Thanks so much for the update. I'm glad things are going well! Wow, walking in the park! That's a HUGE change from the shy girl who left the shelter. Thank you, thank you for fostering her!

She's such a lovely dog! Nice to know that she's doing well. She was pretty shy at the shelter, so it's good to know that she's starting to get used to other people. Thanks for giving her this chance!

How's Pom doing these days? Please post updates and new photos when you get a chance.

Pom continues to do awesome. She has recently gained an interest in hiking and now climbs every rock she can find. She has had a couple friends to play with in the area and really enjoys playing with them. She is a very energetic dog and cannot wait for us to wake up and go for a walk in the morning.

Pom made it to Canada!!!
She went through customs with no problems. Though we were nervous with taking her on such a long flight, she seems to be doing well and LOVES exploring the farm. We are so impressed with how far she's come from the timid little creature we first fostered. She still is nervous around people, but it doesn't take her long to warm up. We'll be posting pictures and videos soon.
