Someone to get you out of the house and exercise?

And well.. just a good and devotional buddy? Asan may have the perfect match; consider Gami.

12/1.. Gami was BEYOND excited for her "volunteer friends" to visit last weekend! She was taken out for a walk, and did excellent.. with lots of stops for roll over belly rubs. She was a licking machine, giving lots of kisses as a "thank you" for her 1:1 time.

Is Gami a male or a female?^^ From the Dec. 1 description sounds like a male, but the gender posted is "unknown".

Gami is a girl. :)

Thanks! She really is a cutie. I'm busy gathering a couple "elves" to help sponsor her health check.

Gami got a walk today at the shelter visit and some cuddles. She is a gentle, sweet, ridiculously cute dog. It is going to be a great day when Gami gets a warm home to call her own.

HELLLL--OOOO everyone!! Sorry it took so long, but I am excited to bring you all of our sweet little baby's news at long last! :D

She has been a dream pet for my finace and I ever since the day we took her home! She's learning commands about one or two per week and hasn't gone to the bathroom inside (except the training pee-pads) since the second day she was with us! She snuggles up right on my chest or in-between my legs and sleeps the whole night through. As soon as my alarm goes off though, it's licks and energy right off! What a way to start the mornings!!

I'm not 100% sure of the ettiquite on this one, but since some people who live near my finace's home use 'Gami' as a term for 'Grandma', we renamed her. We call her 'Aggie' and she doesn't seem to mind a bit! :) Even if we've only been gone for 10 minutes, she seems as excited as the first time we brought her home. That makes lunch breaks and coming home from work super exciting! She's just a total bundle of love and energy! Also, I think I could count the number of times she's barked on one hand. The PERFECT little sweetheart!!!!!!!!

We have an appointment with a recommended vet her in Daejeon on Friday (the 20th). Many things on tap for the young lady:
- General health check and immunizations
- Spaying to take place soon
- Cyst inspection and potential removal from her tummy
- Start heartworm preventative meds (after results come back negative! *fingers crossed* :)

I'd like to take a minute to thank ALL of the people (YOU!) who made this possible! Allison, Sofia, Mr. Park in particular! You guys do AMAZING things for these animals and have inspired me to take a more active role in doing my share as well. Thank you for keeping our little Aggie safe until we could find her!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and for all the help in completing the adoption process. Everyone involved in this site and the shelters all over Korea; THANK YOU! KEEP IT UP!!! :D

It's so nice to see this wonderful girl in a wonderful home with a wonderful family!! Thanks so much for rescuing her!!

annemariew's picture

Aw, I'm so happy to see the photos and see her lying around with you guys. What a lucky girl! BTW, I had the same association with the name Gami, though I got kind of used to it. Thank you for adopting sweet Aggie!

Health update for our sweetie!

- Aggie is NEGATIVE for heartworm and will start her year-round preventative in early Feb. YAYY!!
- She's gotten all of her shots up-to-date and is clear for one year.
- She underwent a double operation yesterday. She is now spayed and had a lump (what the doctor called a hernia rather than a cyst) removed from her tummy while she was already on the operating table. She is recovering normally, but reeling it in all the while, the poor dear!

If all heals correctly, she'll be 100% healthy and healed up within the week!!! All 3 of us are looking forward to it!!!!!!

Anyone that has advice on the head cone thingy that she has to wear would be appreciated. We took it off of her for a bit when we could watch her and make sure she wasn't licking, but do we have to make her try to sleep in it??!

annemariew's picture

Great news about the HW!
Thanks for taking care of her so well. I always think the cones are so cute on small dogs cause the cones are so tiny, too. Bad news is ya, she got to sleep in it. But she'll get used to it. My dog had to wear one for quite a while recently with an eye infection, and while it was hard to see him try and get his coordination re-calibrated, like jumping on a bed with that thing on or going thru a place where he'd end up hitting it, etc, he really did get used to it.

Sofia's picture

Thank you for taking care of Aggie! Don't worry about the cone makinr it uncomfortable for her to sleep- just rememeber what her life was a couple of months ago and how he life is now! She is fine and will be even better after her recovery.
Thank you again!

We can't believe that it's been almost 6 months already! We thought you might want to see how awesome she's doing these days! Here she is - off of her leash, as she can do with ease these days! - and showing off her commands, playfulness and general sweety-hood. :D

annemariew's picture

I can't tell you how wonderful it is to see her with you. She has perfect parents! It's nice to hear a happy endings.

Haha! Thank you very much!
