Description:

Priscilla is a wonderful dog, and probably one of the lowest maintenance dogs you can find. Overall she is very chill and relaxed (although energetic when she knows it's walking time or when she wants to play). She just likes to be on your lap and be petted. She is a very smart dog, and is easily trained. The number one compliment I get about her is "She's so sweet!" I can't tell you how much she has brightened my life, and I know she will do the same in her forever home.

She is completely housebroken (only goes outside) and crate trained. She is also very quiet, so she's perfect for apartments (I've fostered her for a few months, and I'm STILL getting neighbors that are surprised to see that there is a dog in the building). I have taught her a few small commands such as "sit," "go," "get down" (from the bed), and "bed" (when it's time to go to sleep). She understand English and Spanish commands (I talk in both to the dogs). She also does this really neat trick (that I did not teach her, but she just naturally does it) where she sits up on her hind legs. She is not "fragile," so to speak, so you can play with her a little more roughly than typical shih tzus (you will see this in my video playing with her). She gets along decently with other dogs as long as they're not aggressive. Priscilla is not an aggressive dog in any way, but she prefers to be the "alpha," so to speak.

Unfortunately, I don't know much of Priscilla's background story from before I took her from the shelter. All I know is that she had been dropped off along with another dog, Elvis, by the same family. I also fostered Elvis, and he has been successfully adopted into a loving home.

She is completely up-to-date on her vaccinations, and she is free of heartworm, distemper, fleas, ticks, etc. She is not spayed, but is required by KAPS to be spayed within 2 weeks of her adoption.

Once you look into those big puppy-dog eyes, how can you resist such a cutie? I honestly can't believe she has not been adopted yet! And I can't believe people here could be so cruel as to be OK with her dying at such a young age when she is such a wonderful dog!

In the following video I'm mostly filming my pomeranian, but if you skip ahead to the 8:00 mark you will get Priscilla doing that neat trick I mentioned.

Oh my goodness! Priscilla looks so healthy, and happy now :D You have done a great job fostering her, I really hope that she finds her family soon. Too precious, good job!

Hey there! Just wondering what the story is with Priscilla... did she find a suitable home to stay at yet?

Hello! Haha what a coincidence as today I was just about to move her entry. She has been adopted into a very loving home, and it's a great match! Priscilla really likes it at her new mom's place, and has very quickly attached herself. The girl's name is Laura, and she has been wonderful in giving Priscilla the attention she loves to get; it helps that her coworkers pretty much all live in the same apartment building and they love to come by and play with Priscilla. I can tell she is so happy in her home!

That is excellent news!! Congratulations to both you and Priscilla, and thanks so much on not giving up on her, even when it must have felt like everyone was against you!

Thank you! The support of people like yourself in the animal community was a really big motivation to not give up on Priscilla and her welfare. My situation is not 100% better, but at least she is in good hands now, and it has relieved quite a bit of stress.
