Description:

Gracey is on a timer...she has 2 weeks to find a new home or she will have to go to a shelter!

For anyone who has been following Gracey's story I have decided to condense everything onto this one note to make it easier.

***POST ONE****
Her story: She belonged to a family in Guere who sold her for meat, Roger found her on the back of a meat truck today. She is stinky dirty, but incredibly friendly, she's already wagging her tail and sitting on laps ^_^ We are going to give her a good scrub tonight and take her to the vet on Sat for check ups and vaccines.

We only have 2 weeks to find this girl a home as we leave for Indonesia on the 31st October with our other two dogs. We cannot take her with us, we don't have time to process her paperwork and we certainly don't have the money to ship 3 dogs to Indonesia!! We need your help!!! This time I'm REALLY begging. She is a lovely dog, she should not be sent to a shelter.

If you are interested or know of anyone who might be, get in touch. Even if you may only be able to offer a temporary solution...it'll be better than a dog's home or back on the street. I will be posting more photos and information later when she's all cleaned up and I'm not late back from my lunch break ^_^

**** UPDATE ****
I took the dog (currently named Gracey) to the vet today for a check up and to be vaccinated and received bad news... unfortunately Gracey has heart worm. According to our vet her treatment will take 5 months, after which she'll be cured, but it's expensive, he thinks around 1million won. Otherwise her health is OK, he thinks she's around 4 years old.
I'm not really sure where to go from here...as I mentioned before we will leave in 3 weeks for Indonesia, we can't take her with us and we can't afford to pay for treatment.
Is anyone still willing to take her? Perhaps you could raise funds somehow?

****UPDATE 2 ***
I have an update and some good news about Gracey ^_^ We took her to back to our first city of Mokpo at the weekend to see our favorite vet (Pet 119) and he gave us some advice about treating heart worm on a budget. Here's what he said... Heart worms have a life span of approx 2 years, if we treat Gracey with intensive medication for 1 week at a cost of 100,000won it will kill off any lava and adolescent worms. Then if she just takes regular heart worm medication from now on (as any dog should) which cost approx 10,000won per month it will prevent any further heart worm, after 2 years the adult heart worms will die off. Obviously this process is much longer than the 5 month treatment, but it is much cheaper and eventually has the same result. Roger and I have paid for the initial intensive treatment and will give it to her this week, then after that whoever takes her on only need to give her the regular heart worm pill. So far we've paid 289,000won for Gracey so anyone who takes her on and can help out that would be amazing...as you know we're in transition between Korea and Indonesia and are on a seriously tight budget :-/ We have nearly trained her to sit and we are crate training her to get her used to going to the bathroom outside, she's getting there with coming back when she is called. We also took her out to meet some children and she LOVED them, she's great with other dogs too, very playful and happy, she will make someone a really loving and fun companion!

Congrats to Gracey! I'm glad she has a home. I was worried about her timeline.

I edited Gracey's listing to Needs Foster Home: "No" so that she wouldn't be listed on the "For Foster" page anymore. Hope that's OK.
