Description:

Georgie (aka Mr. Sanderson), formerly of Asan shelter was adopted three years ago. His adoptive family left him behind when they left Korea 6 months ago, and haven't made arrangements to bring him to Australia to join them. He has been with a long-term pet sitter since January, but she can no longer keep Georgie. I originally fostered Georgie after taking him out of Asan shelter three years ago, but I now have three dogs of my own plus another foster, so I really can't have him in my home, though I will do everything I can to find him a new home. For now, Georgie will be boarding with a small vet clinic around the corner from my home, but it seems so unfair for him to be back in a situation where he will have to spend much of his time in a cage. When I took him from Asan, I promised him that he would never have to live like that again. I will drop in to visit and take him for walks every day, but he deserves better.

Actually, I can't understand how anyone could leave such a lovely little dog behind. He has such a sweet, affectionate personality. He's playful with other dogs, but gentle with little ones, perfectly housetrained and never barks. I took him for a walk last night, and he was a perfect little gentleman in his leash. He has such soulful eyes and looks up at you with such trust and expectation. If only I had space for one more, I would adopt Georgie in a heartbeat. When he was at Asan shelter, he was a favourite of all the volunteers there because he was just so adorable. When I picked him up from Seoul last night to bring him back to Daejeon, I found that he is the same lovely pup that we all took such a shine to. He spent the night at my house, but it breaks my heart to have to bring him to the clinic today. Can anyone offer this wonderful pup a home that he can rely on? You couldn't ask for a nicer dog.

He had his rabies shot in April and a titre test in May. You can see his previous profile on the old ARK website here: http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/forums/showthread.php?t=5750&highlight=...

UPDATE 06/29/2014: Georgie is doing ok at the vet clinic, though for the first few days he didn't eat very much. His appetite is back, and he REALLY enjoys going out for walks. I spend a little time with him every day, but it's not nearly enough. One potential adoption fell through this week because they found a different dog closer to home, but here's hoping that Georgie's special someone will come along soon!

I took Georgie to the vet clinic, and he was as good as gold. He got a new round of vaccinations and tested heartworm negative. He certainly charmed the vet and and clinic staff! They will let him walk around inside the clinic during the day when it isn't busy, and at night, he'll have a pen to sleep in.

I should also mention that Georgie has been living in a home with two other dogs for the past six months, and he got along with them really well. The vet in the clinic where he's staying now mentioned that he seems to really like other adult dogs.

Georgie has been adopted, and he's doing great in his new home! I'm so happy for him. I've never felt better about an adoption...I'm sure he's found his forever home at last!
