Update 17t Nov 2013

Gongju is officially adopted!! She is currently enjoying her new life in Seoul with her adoptive parents and two little yorkie siblings. Thank you to everyone involved in her rescue ^^

Her new mum says -
'I'm happy to say that we love her!!'

Update: 31st Oct 2013

Exciting news for our little white princess this Halloween day, at the weekend a lovely woman is coming to take Gongju for a trial adoption!! Gongju will meet her new human owners and canine brother and sister, who will have no choice but to succumb to her charms! I'm unbelievably excited but will miss her terribly. Good luck Gongju!!

Update: 26th Oct 2013

Gongju has been living with me and my two pups for almost a week now. Considering she hasn't lived indoors before or been walked on a lead, she is doing great!! She is very well socialised and loves other dogs (my Theo doesn't love her back so much, but oh well...). She is super playful and youthful and even has a signature dance move which she does on two legs when she wants something, sooo cute. She is getting better on the lead every day and is almost house trained. She was also barking and crying when I left the apartment at the beginning but this has almost stopped too. She's very quiet, clean and well-mannered - the perfect houseguest!

She is young and completely healthy, she is very energetic and has a great appetite. She is itty-bitty, about 2.5kg, so I wouldn't recommend her to go to a home with small children or big dogs, but she would be the perfect sidekick for anyone else. We are in the progress of getting her vaccinations up-to-date and she will be spayed next month. Someone has to adopt her quick or I wont be able to give her away...

Update: 21 Oct 2013
Some great teamwork from the ARK community resulted in this sweet girl being transported down to her new foster home yesterday! Thank you to Laura for offering to help us by taking her halfway to Mokpo and to Ailie for meeting Laura to collect your new foster baby! Gonju was a sweet little princess (just like her name says!) on the trip from my vet to the KTX station. There she stole a lot of hearts by standing on her hind legs & waving at people while we waited for her chauffeur! SO CUTE!! Gongju will be living with her two foster brothers, also ex-Asan, Vinny (now Theo) & Cherry (now Chingu). I can't wait to see her all spruced up!

Update: 3 Oct 2013
I decided to pull Gongju from the shelter on Thursday as she was stressed to the max being kept in her cage. Thanks to her kind sponsors, we were able to get her a full health check. She is heartworm NEGATIVE! She has a yeast infection in her ears and between her toes which is being treated. She is unhappy being in another cage at the vet and I hope to have her in foster care sooner rather than later. She shows some anxiety, but this is totally understandable given the circumstances! Once she is in your arms she just melts into you and wants to stay there as if she's saying "please don't let me go this time." :((( Can you help this sweet girl?

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

공주 or "Princess/Gongju" has had her whole world turned upside down. Her owner is an old lady who has both Princess and her "husband", a black poodle called "Prince". The old lady has decided that the dogs are too much work and has asked Mr Park to take care of Gongju and try find her a new home.

She looks like she has had a litter or two in the past. She is very sweet and craving affection. She doesn't have a clue why she is suddenly stuck in a cage and appears pretty panicked. I don't blame her!

She is good with other dogs but I know little more about her. It appears that the lady let the dogs roam free outside of her house so I do not know her status on house-training. Regardless, Gongju will just be happy to be in a safe place and I'm certain she will learn quickly with some patience and positive reinforcement.

If you can help Gongju by fostering her, or better yet, adopting her, please complete the application form in full, found here: http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-application and send it to my e-mail.

***A health check for Gongju has very kindly been sponsored by the Seoul Brew Club. Thank you!!***

Adoption Fee: ₩150,000
