Description:

I'm an English teacher in Yeosu, and in early March of this year, I found a 6-8 week old puppy crying in the alleyway next to my apartment building. After waiting for a possible owner for 30-45 minutes, I took her in for the next night. The following morning, I printed Dog Found signs (in Korean) around the surrounding city blocks, describing the puppy. After two weeks of no calls, I named her and decided to adopt her until I could find a suitable home.

Mocha has been a joy for my final seven months here, especially because she is my first dog. I am almost completely sure she is a Jindo, and the vet she has been going to agrees. She is up to date on all of her vaccinations, is crate and house-trained, and loves going on hikes. She has also learned not to chew on furniture and laundry. She's an energetic dog, so I try to give her as much time running around outside along the beach or park as I can. She loves to play fetch with plastic toys, balls, and larger treats. She also likes to play tug of war with her favorite old shirt. Mocha is bigger than most other dogs in Yeosu, so it is difficult finding dogs that will socialize with her, but she loves to play with other dogs when she has the opportunity.

Mocha just finished going through her first "heat" about a month ago, and she has not been spayed. If I was renewing my contract, I would absolutely continue caring for her, and if I had a stable home to bring her back to the US, I would, but the only home I know I have with confidence is my family's, and my parents are quite allergic to dogs and cats.

If possible, I would like her to find a long-term, stable home in Korea outside of the normal contract-teacher crowd, since I do not want her being juggled after every contract expires.

Also, you mention that she's a bonded pair. Who's the other half?

She is such a unique looking dog! So gorgeous! I hope she finds her home soon.

i think you should spay her first ...apparently jindos (when they go into heat) escape and go missing.

Oops, when I saw "Bonded pair" I thought it meant bonded with owner, not another animal. I've corrected it.
