*Update-Nov. 19th*
Nori - formerly Sarah - left today from Incheon Airport for a grand voyage across the Pacific. She will overnight in lovely Vancouver, Canada before continuing onto her final destination and forever home in Ottawa, Canada where she will be welcomed with eager and loving arms. Congrats Nori! =)

*Update-Oct. 14th*
The lovely Sarah - who will be called "Nori" by her new family in Canada - went to PetCare Animal Hospital today to see Dr. Mina Seo for her spaying surgery. She will then go into foster care for her recovery with a wonderful BAPS volunteer!

We're now looking for a second foster home for Nori after she's done her recovery so that she can stay out of the shelter leading up to her trip to Canada. Food and puppy pad costs will be covered! If you think you can foster her, please send along your information to [email protected].

We're also looking for someone to transport Nori to Ottawa, Montreal, or Toronto Canada. If you or anyone you know is traveling there in the next short while PLEASE contact us!!

*Update-Oct. 7th*

Great news for Sarah! She has a home lined up in Canada. She will be going in for spaying soon and get all of her documents in order. Now we're just looking for someone to bring her to Ottawa, Canada with them! (Or Toronto.. Montreal..)

*Update-Sept. 10th*

Great news for Sarah's fans! This pup has received the funds necessary for a medical sponsorship and we've found a place for her to recover with one of our regular BAPS volunteers. Hopefully after Chuseok things will all be properly sorted and she can get spayed, making her that much more adoptable!

Also, little Sarah did very well last Sunday on volunteer day at the shelter. She is quickly becoming a FANTASTIC walker. Only a short time ago it seemed like she had never walked on a leash before. Now she walks right beside her human, a step back usually, with a very slack leash. She still veers off now and again, especially when surrounded by other rambunctious shelter dogs, but a quick correction and she's back on track. What a smart girl!

*Update-Sept. 1st*

What a great day for little Sarah! She was much better behaved today than in past weeks. We think she was actually in heat earlier this month. That, combined with the stress of coming and adjusting to shelter life, must have really done a number on her emotions. We didn't see any of her previous aggressive behaviour at all today. She was fun loving, affectionate, cuddly, and just wanted attention. We tested her with some shaving to get rid of a few mats on her ears, chest and chin and she was quite well behaved.

She really enjoyed being out a lot today and we got to see such a great side of her. I'm sure anyone that took her home would continue to see this amazing side of such a great dog.

*Update-Aug. 14th*

Sarah is still having some issues adjusting to life at the shelter. One of her cage-mates, an energetic mini pin, has been causing her a lot of stress which manifested in some aggressive behaviour. However, once removed from the situation she was a completely different dog in a matter of only a couple hours. That's when we saw the calm, sweet, affectionate girl come out.

Sarah really seems to love being held. She is incredibly loving and wants to be near a person.

Sometime within the next month she will be going for a week-long foster to test her around other, calmer dogs as well and to see how she is on walks and with house training. We're hoping everything goes well for her and that this will continue to show just how good a girl she really is!

***

Sarah is a lucky girl. She recently arrived at BAPS from a local kill pound. Now she is safe at BAPS and she has the chance to find her forever home. She's an adorably cuddly and cute black poodle. She is a little shy and timid when you first meet her but is very loving once she becomes comfortable with you. Sarah and her friends from the pound were all named after famous comedians.

Sarah hasn't been out for a walk yet. As she was rescued from the pound 2 weeks ago she still has to build up her antibodies level before she can go for a walk.

Medical history:
Sarah is heartworm negative.

Sarah is a BAPS dog, which means anyone interested in fostering or adopting her will need to complete the adoption application (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-application) and volunteer two Sundays in a row (from 11-3) at our shelter. For an adoption, one must complete a month long trial to make sure you and the dog are a good fit! You can visit the shelter page for more information!

*BAPS also has a sponsorship program. Anyone interested can give 200,000 won for a dog to have their full health check, be neutered or spayed, and get any necessary dental work. If you are interested in sponsoring Sarah, please let me know!

When I took little Sarah out for photos, she jumped into my arms every time I put her down. She loves being held and needs a lot of reassurance now that she's at the shelter. Here's video of her jumping:

Sarah has been having some trouble adjusting to life in a cage, but today she really opened up to me and showed how much love she has to give to someone who will be patient and calm for her. She really needs her forever family to take her home.

Today she was happy to stretch her legs outside for a few minutes, but she loves being held. She is super affectionate if you give her time to open up.
