UPDATE August 4, 2013
Gem was brought to Harmony vet clinic in Daejeon where he will recover some more from his eye surgery and will be neutered. After that, if there is still no one who can foster him, he'll go to "Daejeon Paws" shelter. He's a very sweet little guy. He looks quite healthy, though he needs to put on weight.

I picked Gem up from the vet today and dropped him off at the shelter. He is such a sweet little dog! About 3 seconds after I was holding him down to help Dr. Lee take his stitches out, he wanted to play with me and be my friend! So trusting... We played around and then I carried him for a while before sticking him in the carrier for the long cab-ride. He was very calm and happy to be held. Like all dogs new to the shelter he was a little overwhelmed at first, but he adjusted pretty quickly and doesn't seem at all afraid of other dogs. He is a little bit on the thin side, but otherwise he's in great shape and, might I add, a lot cuter than these photos capture :P

I visited Gem at the shelter yesterday, and he's doing really well. He's so sweet! If I didn't already have three dogs of my own, I would certainly bring him home. Considering all he's been through in the past month, he's amazingly chipper and friendly. He wanted to play with me or just sit with me most of the time I was there, and I'm sure he would make a great pet. He gets along well with the other dogs at the shelter, and he shows a lot of interest in people. I think he must have been someone's pet before he ended up in the municipal shelter that he was rescued from. Do you have space in your heart and home for this special little guy?

So I gave him a bath and that must have washed away all his worries because this amazing puppy suddenly appeared! After the video he conked out.

Haha...I guess that answers the question of whether he would be more active once he got home! So cute! Thanks for sharing. I'll make sure Mrs. Jung sees the video.
