Update: 18 Dec 2013
Wonderful news! Mãe's foster parents have decided to adopt her! Wohoo!! Thank you so much for all you have done for her, and for giving her a forever home.

As far as how Mae is doing she is good! I was worried about the snow coming because I thought she would get cold. But, we put some sweaters on before we go out and she is good to go. We are all settled into a routine and she is just loving life in Bundang.
We have plans to move to Michigan in May and have already made arrangements for her to come with us. We are very excited to move and I know Mae is going to enjoy the extra space to run around!

What a happy ending for Mãe and her two babies, Maria & Nellie, who all found their forever homes this year.

Update: 3 Oct 2013
Look at Mãe! She is doing so well in foster care! She is gaining weight and is nice and healthy. This is what her foster mom has to say:

Mãe got a haircut and her first canine flu shot. they also thought her antibody levels were low so they are doing two more DHPPL vaccines. She is doing really great lately and we are getting over the separation anxiety. She only really acts out when we leave in the middle of the day and gets super exited whenever we come back , understandably. When I leave in the morning she doesn't mind so much. She is a little tired today because we just came back from hiking.

Update: 6 Sept 2013
Mãe is loving life in her foster home! She gets to eat yummy, nutritious food, go on walks, sleep in a comfy bed & get lots of love. She has been showing some signs of separation anxiety when her fosters leave, but with patience & positive reinforcement, her foster mom says things are improving. Hey, it hasn't even been a week yet! I'm confident this girl will settle in very soon. Her foster mom adds:

Mae seems to have picked up housetraining (pee and poo outside exclusively) and hasn't had an accident in 3 days!

Update: 2 Sept 2013
Great news! Mãe found a wonderful foster home! She went into foster care on Saturday (31st Aug) & so far she is settling in well. She is underweight at only 4.7kg but I've no doubt that will change now that she's in a loving home. She was given Heartguard on the 31st of August. She also only needs to have her 2 CaniFlu vaccination jabs once she's settled in & she will be 100% ready to go.

Her foster mom says:

She is getting more positive and courageous each day. She got really excited when we woke up this morning at 6:30. She also LOVES going on walks.

House training is still a work in progress, but hey! It's only been one full day that she's been with them. I know she will realise what is expected of her in no time! Thanks to her foster parents for taking her in. :)

Update: 27 August 2013
Some new pics of Mãe are in the comments section below. She is a real diamond in the rough. I wish someone would foster her so that we can see her transformation! Imagine after a nice bath & a haircut. <3

Mãe is very healthy now, heartworm negative & up-to-date on her vaccinations. Please consider her!

Update: 20 August 2013
Since Mãe's pups were taken from her & bottle-fed she has been treated in hospital & is now ready for a home! She was NOT in good condition before, but she is now nice and healthy & pretty keen on getting out of her hospital cage! Please consider fostering or adopting Mãe! She is SUCH a sweet little lady!

Update: 13 July 2013
Mãe was suffering from extreme diarrhea so we rushed her to the vet. Thankfully she tested negative for parvo, but did test positive for worms & Campylobacter. Unfortunately, because of her terrible physical condition, the vet advised us to seperate her puppies from her. This means that Mãe is now hospitalised for 2 weeks while she recovers in peace, and that her two babies are with me being bottle-fed every 3 hours. This means that all THREE doggies will have a good chance of survival! Get well soon Mãe!

Update: 12 July 2013
Hip hip hooray for Mãe!! Yesterday she was brought down to Cheonan by Mr Park and delivered to her new foster mom. She is just one of the cutest little darlings EVER! Her 2 surprises are surprisingly big! They look like adorable sausages. ***In Love!!***

Update: 9 July 2013
The animal rescue community is amazing! Mãe and her babies have somewhere to go & will be living in the comfort of an experienced foster mom's home.

Watch this space...sometime this week Mãe & her babies will move from shelter to foster care!

-------------------------------------------------------------------------

Please help a young, undernourished mom & her two tiny babies!

Mãe is a dirty, scruffy little lady who has had a very hard life. Mãe & her 2 scruffy puppies were due to be euthanised in a city pound & were listed on the Korean lost/found site. An ARK member saw her there and asked if anyone could save them. Mr Park of Asan shelter went to the rescue and came back with her + her 2 adorable, scruffy puppies of about 3-4 months in age.

On Saturday, 6th July, I met Mãe & her scruffy pups. They are all adorable! I put my hand into her cage and she rested her head on my hand. I fell in love. She has the most beautiful eyes and the sweetest underbite. I picked her up and moved her to another pen with her two scruffy puppies. Fellow volunteer, Julie, and I discussed the fact that she was still lactating and I felt her tummy. Julie has it on video where I am saying "her tummy feels, like, full". I noticed the scruffy pups suckling on her a little later, even though they are fully weaned.

Well lo and behold, 2 hours later Mr Park texted me to say that she had just given birth to two babies!! What a surprise!! The poor dear must have been in labour when I was handling her and moving her into the other pen. She was so sweet and kind the entire time.

So now, sweet Mãe has two teeny tiny little puppies who she is feeding at the shelter! She is so quiet and her babies are so small. Under all that fur she is skin and bone. She is not physically equipped to be nursing.

Mãe needs a foster home where she can go be in peace with her pups. A quiet, clean place where she & her babies can occupy a clean corner or your spare room. A place where she will get high-quality food for nursing mums and clean water and some veterinary attention if needed.

All expenses will be covered by the emergency rescue fund!

Please contact me if you can help Mãe & her little surprises! This is urgent!

Aw. look how pretty she is sitting. What a little angel! :) And that scruffy little face and underbite is so adorable - but I'm pretty partial to scruffy dogs with underbites!!

Mae is going through such a great transformation~~

I am her foster mom and in just the last week I have seen such a scared little dog turn into a happy, loving friend! She's been such a great addition to our home in Bundang.

Each day we keep the same schedule and gets plenty of outside time each day. Also, a whole week without any accidents-- dare I say housetrained??? She picks up training so quickly!
