Description:

Bella is WONDERFUL!!! Just loves being with everyone---kids, cats, and dogs. I just couldn't capture in a photo how really adorable Bella is; you have to see her chasing flower petals on a walk, or see how happy she is just to see anyone come into view. We're leaving for 2 months vacation on June 9th. It would be awesome if Bella could find her forever family before then...or a summer foster home...or a pet sitter at our place in Northeastern Seoul.

Bella was pulled from the shelter last weekend to test her for Distemper and Parvo since she had direct contact with dogs who tested positive for both. SHe tested negative, but the vet wanted to hold her for the week to watch her closely since both disease are HIGHLY contagious and since she is so young. The vet also ran a titer test to see where her antibody levels are. She is pretty high, meaning she will need less rounds of vaccinations to get her to the appropriate level.

Once the vet feels confident letting her leave, she will be on her way to a foster home where she can be monitered and where she will be away from the shelter outbreak. The foster is only temporary until June, so we are hoping that she will find her forever home within the month or will have a back-up foster for her. Please keep consider adotping or opening up your home to foster after June1.

Bella is a stunning schnauzer mix. She was rescued from a kill shelter in Korea and brought to Asan.

I would recommend Bella for any household-type. She is quite clever and would probably love to learn a few good tricks. She has also adapted well to shelter life and has quite the zest for life.

If you are interested in fostering or adopting Bella, please fill out the fostering/adoption application completely, located here: http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/adoption-application and return to Clare Mills, [email protected].

Bella is such a LOVING dog! Wags at everyone, ready to be friends. Bella LOVES kids! She loves our cats, she goes to the toilet outside and is great on a leash, she's really calm but still cute, she doesn't bark at all and doesn't chew things (except the cardboard we have all over the house for our cats to scratch on). Bella is staying with us as an emergency foster until we leave for vacation on June 9th--or until she is adopted, whichever comes sooner. I hope it's adoption! If you'd like to meet Bella, please get in touch with me and/or Clare.

Bella is doing brilliantly in her new home with her new dad! Here is what he had to say about her first few days with him:

Bella is doing great. She has blown me away just seeing how sweet she is with everyone and the fact that she has yet to pee in the house (I kind of thought in the first few days there might be an incident but nope). She's eating more and more regularly and always a delight. I'm really surprised at how quickly she's adjusted to her new place (although I've read that dogs have a very different sense of time than humans). She still prefers the cat food over the dog food but I've put together a good mix of the two and so she has generally been pretty happy with that. I was a tad worried about how she might respond to all this rain (a fair number of the dogs I've been around have had issues with rain) but once she gets her paws wet she's back to her usual prancing self.

Bella has since had a haircut and a full checkup at the vet. Here are some photos of her in her forever home! Yaaay!! Thank you Susan for fostering her and Gabe for adopting her!
