Description:

April 4th: Wonderful news! Tulips amazing foster mom has officially decided to adopt this sweet little flower. She will be moving home to the U.S. this summer with her mom and doggy sister, Lucy, to live the rest of her life as the pampered pup she deserves. Thank you so much to everyone who helped Tulip, and a special thanks to her amazing new family, Heather and Lucy. This update is always my favorite one to make. Congratulations, Tulip!

April 3rd: Tulip continues to do well in her foster home with her amazing foster mom and sister, Lucy. She is being treated for Hypothyroidism and now feels like a million bucks! What an amazing transformation this little angel has made over the past month --- from a scared, lost soul shivering in her cage to living the sweet life in Gwangju! I wish all homeless dogs had the happy ending that Tulip has gotten.

March 2nd: Tulip has been in foster care for about 2 weeks now, and she has been doing wonderfully. She had a full health check up at the vet, and lots of good news! He thinks she is about 8 or 9 years old, and is heartworm negative. Her teeth were atrocious, but her amazing foster mom raised enough money for her scaling and extractions and now Tulip's teeth are looking like a million bucks! She has been treated for a bacterial stomach infection and visited the groomer to get her hair cut. She gets along fantastically with her foster sister Lucy, and would make a wonderful addition to someone looking for a tiny, low maintenance dog. Tulip's golden years are looking pretty shiny since she's left the shelter and getting the proper care she deserves.

Tulip is the tiniest little gal with the sweetest personality. She came to Asan Shelter a few days ago from the Pyeongtaek City Pound. We think she is an older gal, as her teeth aren't the greatest and she was completely calm and chilled out. She appears healthy, however she just came from the city pound and hasn't visited a vet yet, so we can't be 100% sure until she is given a proper health check.

Tulip weighs no more than 2 kilograms, and it is likely she will not survive long out in the cold. We have arranged for Tulip to stay inside the shelter manager's home for the time being, but we're not sure how long she can be kept there. We are looking for an urgent foster for this sweet little pup, and any vetting will be taken care of by our Asan Shelter rescue fund if someone is willing to take her in and give her somewhere warm to stay.

When I saw little Tulip shivering in her cage, tears welled up in my eyes. I have been going to Asan for over two years, and not once have I ever felt as moved or upset seeing a dog there as I was today. This sweet little girl, smaller than a teddy bear, was just standing there, quietly looking at me amid the cacophony of the other dogs barking around her. She was terrified, freezing, and completely alone.

Tatiana brought Tulip out of her cage and sat with her awhile, warming her up. She loved the attention, and curled quietly into Tatiana's arms and would gladly have stayed there all day. Her eyes were a gunky mess and she had some mats in her fur, but Tatiana painstakingly worked to clean her face and brush her out. All the while Tulip sat there patiently, seemingly loving the attention. She even allowed Tatiana to trim her nails.

Tulip would be a wonderful companion for someone who appreciates a more low-key dog. She would also be ideal for anyone who travels frequently or would like a little 'pocket-sized' pal to go on day trips with. Tulip is very snuggly and clearly loves attention and affection. She is a wonderful little girl and I hope we will find her a wonderful home soon.

She looks like one of my previous little maltese fosters, except no one has dyed her pink :( I'm full but if I could I'd take this little one in a heartbeat. I hate when people dump their old dogs and in the middle of winter no less!

Poor little thing. :(

Eveliens, was just thinking she resembled Danbi in appearance and demeanor! Someone pls take this little girl home! Outdoor living is so hard on these small dogs. The image of her terrified and shaking in her cage nearly made me cry. Let's hope Tulip can find a warm home before she has to go back to her cage :-(

I'm sure someone will step up. If she needs a warm place to go temporarily I can help. She looks soooooooo much like Danbi, Candy and Angie (my little, old maltese fosters!)

Hey there - I can take her, but I have 2 already and have a short trip to the Philippines coming up. Would you be able to take her until March 10th? And then I can foster her from there?

The problem is I actually have 3 dogs right now and one is "special." I'm sure Tulip is a piece of cake to take care of but space is an issue. Maybe someone else could foster her until the 10th if they knew she had a perm foster home lined up?

Hello, I sent an email yesterday but I just wanted to also follow up here. I would *love* to foster her and can take her immediately. I live in Gwangju and haven't fostered in Korea so I'm not sure how I can go about doing it (I looked for an application on the page but couldn't find it anywhere?...). Please let me know.^^ Cheers!
