UPDATE: An adoption is agreed, and the adopters will be picking him up next week....Will keep everyone posted about this. You're a good boy, Charlie! Well...Charlie is a typical poodle with lots of energy. He loves people, and is very smart. He is housetrained and crate trained, but he is very jumpy and energetic and needs training. A dog trainer came to the shelter a few months ago and assessed several of the dogs, including Charlie. Wow, Charlie was an amazing good boy with someone who really knows how to teach a young dog. If you like poodles and have experience with dog training, please consider giving this boy a chance. Charlie needs someone who can take the time to show him how to interact well with people. He learns fast, and really craves human attention.

Rescue story: Charlie was abandoned at a vet clinic by his family when they found out that he had heartworm. After some time at the clinic, Charlie was brought to Daejeon Paws. During his heartworm treatment, he stayed in a foster home so that he could wouldn't get overexcited by the presence of other dogs. He was good about housetraining, but the foster carer felt that she didn't have enough experience to handle Charlie long-term. Charlie has recovered well and is in good health. He is up to date on his vaccinations, and is neutered. If you love poodles and know how to teach a young dog, please consider Charlie!

Charlie waiting and wondering...

GREAT news about Charlie! A couple have decided that they want to adopt Charlie! They're going to send him to Any Dog School to get him trained and then bring him home. I'm SO happy for the little guy! They came to Daejeon Paws to meet him yesterday and they really clicked. Charlie was a wiggly jumping bean as usual, but...they really want to help him and were sad that they couldn't bring him home just yet. They'll be back next week to pick him up and bring him to the training school. That that point, I'll move this profile to the "Adopted" page. This has been a real lesson for me. A while back, I had let Charlie's profile expire because everyone who volunteers at the shelter was thinking that his behavior was just too much for anyone to ever consider adopting him. Karolin Kaminski, A professional dog trainer came to DP to assess some of the dogs a couple of months ago, and we were all amazed at how much she was able to accomplish with Charlie in a very short time. I updated Charlie's profile, and hoped that someday, someone would come along and give Charlie a chance. It didn't take very long! Thank you SO much to the adopters! And thank you Karolina for showing us Charlie's potential!
