ChiChi the Chi

Chichi is a recent jailbird pup from KARMA. I got a call from KARMA asking if I like chihuahuas. Curious, I said sure. The lady gave me the dog's number and I looked her up during my hectic, crazy break during summer camp (one eye on the computer, one eye on the students with sharp objects). Let me say, on the website she was stinkin' cute! I agreed to pick her up, even though it was terrible timing.

Once I got there I could see why KARMA called. This dog... wowzer. Talk about a heart-thief! Within minutes she was snuggling in my lap and nuzzling my hand.

I don't have a lot of info on her yet, since I've been on vacation, but her petsitter seems to think she's a super fun companion. This is what I know so far:

-she seems very healthy! we have a pending vet visit to check up on some things
-she's very young! She is 6-8 months old and 2.2kg. EASILY an in-cabin dog!
-she's very, very, very much a chi! very strong personality, very loving towards "her person," agile, curious and bold
-she seems okay with other animals both dogs and cats. She didn't bother the rats or hedgehog I was petsitting at all.
-she is NOT a big barker so far -shocker
-she's very happy to see kids on walks
-easy walker without pulling and a lot of silly prancing
-NOT housebroken but working on crate training and doing well
-she's very friendly and snuggly
-needs to work on playing nice and not nipping
-she's a chi, did I mention that? Fantastic little dogs

To recap, so far, she's a good little dog without any problems. She's still a puppy though, so she may make mistakes and she will need a lot of guidance on good dog behavior.
