**UPDATE 8/31

Goguma was adopted today! A wonderful couple adopted him, and said he bore striking resemblance to their past cat. He got a check-up at the vet, and his teeth are looking good (and just a little stomatitis remains). Goguma's on his way! Thanks again to everyone who helped out Goges :)

**UPDATE 8/17

I took Goguma to the vet today to get his first round of vaccinations (finally healthy! woohoo!). My vet also looked at his teeth, and said they are doing very well... just a little redness on the righthand side. Please contact me if you are interested in meeting my happy, affectionate foster boy. I am moving in less than two weeks now.

**GOGUMA UPDATE 8/13/12

Hi again ~ I put "URGENT" in the headline today because I decided Goguma would do better if he didn't need to change houses again... I am moving houses in less than three weeks (my two adopted cats and I are moving in with my friend who has two cats already). I worry that he will change environments in three weeks and then again before November (when I leave the country). Since he is doing well with no stress, I don't want to put any on him.

He is completely ready to go. The only thing is he needs to be vaccinated still (the vet wanted to wait until he was completely healthy), and I can get them started this month.

After thinking about it more and talking with my friends, I think it's best (if the right home is out there) for him to be adopted before the move.

If you're interested in meeting the Goge-ster, please let me know!

**GOGUMA UPDATE 8/9/12

Hi all ~ Goguma was given a clean bill of health a couple days ago, and he has fully recovered well from the surgery. He is more friendly and lively than I've ever seen him. I love the little guy, and I told my friend if I didn't already have two, I'd adopt him. I'm gonna miss him, but it's time for him to find his "forever home!" My cousin - who has a slight allergy to cats - visited me, and liked Goguma so much (he cuddled with her every night and stayed in her room) said she wished she could have taken him home.

I am leaving Korea at the beginning of November, so Goguma needs to have a new home by then. However, I'm moving houses in three weeks, so the sooner the better (if you're interested in adopting Goguma).

Also, since I've seen Goguma at full health, I've noticed a few things about his personality. Like I mentioned, he is friendly and likes to play. I think he would do best in a home where he is the only cat or there is one other cat that doesn't have a dominant personality. When it comes to my cats, Goguma likes to be in charge. My more laid-back cat is cool with it, but my alpha kitty isn't too pleased. haha

Anyway, please contact me if you want to give Goguma the home he deserves (and please fill out the form with the link located at the bottom of this post).

** GOGUMA UPDATE 7/31/12

In the past month, Goguma has had two surgeries to remove most of the teeth in his mouth, due to the stomatitis (see below). His second surgery was last week, and he is doing well! His medicine is almost finished, and he is eating well. I will take him back for an update, but Goguma seems to have conquered the surgeries. He is happy and playful... He seems more energetic, probably now that he is not in pain.

His surgeries cost 1,050,000won and there is a fundraiser on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/events/254989857944059/?ref=ts) if you would like to help donate.

**GOGUMA UPDATE 7/2/12

I took Goguma to the vet on Saturday because he had a little drool coming from his mouth. Unfortunately, he has stomatitis, an inflammation of the mouth disease that can cause mild to severe pain in cats. He just had an unexpected scaling done, and hopefully it'll work! If not, he will need to have all of his teeth removed. He's still a great pet. Just lovely. But, right now he needs to eat wet food. Please still consider Goguma and thanks for thinking of him!
_____

In December, my friend decided to foster a cat from the Asan animal shelter, and she chose the sickest (and friendliest one).

She named him Goguma ("sweet potato" in Korean, due to his coloring), and at the time he was underweight, sneezing, and severely stuffed up. The vets diagnosed him with pneumonia. He has taken lots of medicine, but he is still a little stuffy and will start some medicine using a nebulizer this week to help clear it up.

My friend fostered Goguma for three months, and said he was shy but cuddled and bonded with her cat. He was adopted earlier this year, but returned within days because the person said Goguma didn't warm up quickly. I didn't have this experience when he came to my house, but potential adopters should understand that Goguma may hide at first, be a little scared, etc.

I've had Goguma since late February, and he is just amazing! "Goge-Master" (my nickname for him) opened up quite quickly and made himself at home. This kitty has the cutest little black freckles around his orange eyes. He's more affectionate than my cats, and loves to be pet. He sleeps on my bed each night, and adores cuddling with one of my kitties. I used to have a foster dog, and Goguma would, without hesitation, groom and sit next to my pup. He likes to play and has a great appetite. He's polite, though, and will wait his turn if the other two cats get to the food first. He's gained at least 2 (and probably closer to 3) kilograms since he was taken from the shelter.

He's not yet vaccinated because the vet wants to wait he is fully healthy. Goguma would be a great companion for anyone, and especially a family or person with a friendly cat(s) or dog(s).

Go Team Goguma!

How is this done, the adoption? Paperwork?

I suffer from cancer and will take great care of the kitty. I have my request in to a few cats, first come I will help. One condition; the cat is brought to me. That way you can set your mind at peace and help me at the same time. I live near COEX.

Update on Goguma: Goguma went to a new foster home for a week for a trial run. It wasn't an ideal match as Goguma is very shy at first and needs time to adjust. He will be coming back with me for the time being. So he is still looking for a home. Goguma is a super sweet boy, he just needs to be around someone who is going to be patient and understanding about his shyness. He was a shelter cat until I fostered him, so he needs time to warm up to you, but trust me, when he does, he will love to cuddle with you and get as much attention as he can!

Yay Goguma! I hope he can find a home soon!

Hi all, Goguma is progressing nicely. He even cleaned my dog! Haha he sniffles at times, but otherwise is great! He is eating and socializing with myself and my animals :)

Goguma and RFK <3

Goguma is doing great! His breathing is super, and he is as loving as ever with my cat, RFK. He's also gained weight, so he's a bit of a mini chub-a-lub now. Goguma needs a person who is willing to give him attention, and also a person who already has a cat would be great (but not necessary... he's just so good with my cat)!

Hi everyone, Goguma is doing really well, and he is still looking for his forever home. He has become more independent this past month, though he still loves cuddling with one of my cats. He hasn't gotten a lot of attention lately, which is sad since he is a great cat who has been through a lot, yet has prevailed. He's a good boy, and please let me know if you are interested. I'll post more pictures this weekend!
