Description:

2/3/2013 - Vivienne was adopted today by a lovely couple called Stacey and Kieran! They just came to pick her up and take her to her new home. I was super sad to say goodbye but I know she has gone to a loving home.

Vivienne was found on the streets of Daegu in September 2011 when she was 6 weeks old. She is now 1 year and about 5 months old. When I found her in the street and began to bring her up, my original plan was to take her home back to England with me. Unfortunately, this plan has not worked due to the extremely high price of transporting a cat to the UK, the strict laws of the UK on transporting cats into the country from SK and most importantly a change in personal circumstances.
Having brought Vivienne up from such a young age and becoming extremely attached to her, my main priority is to find her a loving, stable home in South Korea where she will be given the care, love and attention that she deserves. I am extremely sad that I can't do this myself.
When I found her originally, she was with another kitten, presumed to be her sister, who was taken in by my friend. We found them outside of an apartment building in the north of Daegu and asked around the local neighbourhood if they belonged to anyone, which they did not. They were both dirty, scrawny and underfed but soon were restored to full health after a few hearty meals, a bath and a trip to the vets.

Vivienne is a super playful cat who loves playing with balls, feathers and anything that makes a noise. Her favourite toy is Ruairi the Racoon, who she drags around the room by it's tail :) She is very alert and nosey as to what you are doing! A unusual noise or glimmering light will grab her attention straight away. Like any cat, however, she loves to nap. In the winter, with the underfloor heating on, she will happily curl up in a ball on the warmest spot she can find and sit there for hours. Another favourite place to nap is under the duvet, the crook of your knee or over your feet. The perfect heater!
A can of tuna will have her running to you as soon as you take it out the cupboard and any food around she will be immediately sniffing.

Vivienne loves when other people come to visit and gets very excited. She is curious about who they are and will insist that you play with her. She likes minimal petting and only a few occasional hugs. She has stayed with my friends twice now while I was on vacation and they had no trouble with her. The only trouble I have ever had with her is just before she got spayed and she did not settle well, but that was sorted after a trip to the vet. She was spayed in August 2012.

She has been litter trained since the first week I got her. She never had any trouble understanding where she had to go and adapted extremely well to apartment life. She is used to being left to her own devices and easily entertains herself.
She will always greet you at the door when you return home and purr around your feet for a while. We attempted leash training in the Fall of 2012 but she was very reluctant to go outside.

I can give you all the items you need to care for Vivienne - litter box, scoop, scratching post, blankets, toys, food bowl, water bowl, mat, food, small transport carrier.
I know she will be an amazing pet for someone who can offer her a stable home and hope that I can find someone for her soon :)

What a pretty kitty! I'm sure she'll find a home soon, especially since you've taken such good care of her and kept up with her medical!
When do you leave?

rebecca_b's picture

I hope so :) I leave at the beginning of March, so in about 6 weeks time.

She looks like a painter just did a quick stroke of his brush across her eye. So gorgeous! I hope you find a forever home for her soon!

Oh, I also meant to ask, how is she with other cats?

megs .. she was separated from her sister for maybe a month at the very beginning and we reintroduced them after this time. they didn't get along well at all and Vivienne did not behave very nicely towards the other cat. now she has matured, she hasn't had much contact with other cats, apart from at the vet. she becomes very nervous at the sight of the other animals, and i have been reluctant to introduce her to any other cats.

Ah, I see. Sounds like she's a one kitty show. That's okay!
