Gorgeous and smart, lil Tart!

Though she's a former street cat like many of her shelter mates, Tart is a very unique individual at Asan shelter. Sharp by name and sharp by nature, Tart is a young, intelligent queen in the making and has a special signature feature, a bung front left paw. But this minor but rather cute deformity hasn't stopped Tart from shining! In the few months I've known her Tart has really come out of her shell and is now comfortable and thriving in people's company. She loves her toys, her leg never an interference, and enjoys playing games with anyone willing to spend a moment or two with her. She also enjoys the odd belly scratch here or there too! She gets along great with other cats and doesn't bite or scratch.

She's in good health, is spayed and vaccinated and a general health check will be required once she leaves the shelter. Just a sidenote, previously there have been some cases of stomatitis ( like a feline gingivitis) and non fatal but highly contagious feline herpes virus in the shelter. Tart hasn't displayed any symptoms of either and her oral health seems satisfactory but a more thorough check of her teeth is needed. There is a possibility stomatitis symptoms can develop in the future and thus require some dental treatment and care. Most cats that are exposed to an environment where stomatitis has occurred WILL NOT develop it, but some cats will, and a depressed immune system does seem to make them more likely to develop it. However, if by any chance this arises, there is a fantastic vet in Seoul who specializes in feline dental care we can refer you too!

Tart is incredibly adorable and would make the ultimate feline housemate! Let's give Tart a healthy, happy environment for her to flourish in! Please consider taking in this special little lady!

Tart has gone to a really wonderful family and I'm so incredibly happy and encouraged in working to get other Asan cats out into amazing homes like this one!!! Thank you for the update Jong! I love that family photo of you three, especially knowing Tart's 'unique quality' probably inspired the photo; I know that you know how special she really is!!

You're welcome, hun! We love her more each day!!! We will update you with more photos later. Here's what happened last time- msg for Daisy via fb:

(November 9,2012):
Hi sweetie. We just want you to know that Joaquin is doing really good. The first night, when we got back from the shelter, we fed her and she was very, very hungry and thirsty. She fell asleep at 12 am and woke up at 2am, she went to the toilet and went under the bed, again. At 5am, she woke up and started meowing and I played with her until 5:30am, she went back under the bed (the place where she was safe) at 6am and slept, again. She even used the litter box without hesitation.
The next day (yesterday) was incredible, we decided to let her meet our friends here in Kyunghee Apartments, we had 9 people around here last night and she went out (from under the bed :) )! She played with people, she let them pet her!!! We are so very proud of her. We were scared that it will freaked her out but no, she was back to her normal lovely self! And this morning, I brought her bed in our bedroom and wahlaaaaaa... she just climbed on it and started to clean herself and fell asleep. <3
My friend, Annie was amazed how Joaquin got on and getting on with new things around her, Annie's cats took them 2 weeks to finally feel at home.
We are very, very happy for her and very, very proud!!!

We will update you more next time, hun. Enjoy the rest of your weekend! :* <3

(November 15,2012):
Hiya hun. Joaquin stopped meowing so loud now and she've got her new routine, playing all day and sleep all night. Last Tuesday night was the first time that we moved her bed in the front room (I slept on the mattress out here as well, our mattress is our settie, too- if you know what I mean) because Brian got this bronchitis and we don't want her getting it. Since that, she haven't been awake all night and meowing, she goes to sleep at 10pm and wakes up at 7am, the same time as we do. She plays all day long with me, never get tired of her, she is so cute, especially when she plays with her tail. lol Now we're both watching Six Feet Under! (Still weird- in a good way- having someone around with me during the day, I love it!) :)...
