The story of Sasha--

Sasha was born to an adopted street cat of an 80-year-old Korean man who had started feeding Mama cat, and who he eventually came to think of as his pet. The mama cat was living in his tent and roaming the streets where he does a little recycling business. Eventually Mama Cat *surprise!* got pregnant and had 5 kittens. Mama cat was friendly and loving, but she eventually ran away when the kittens were about 8 weeks old.

Sasha and 2 siblings have been living in the tent and yard of the Korean grandfather. 2 of the other kittens were adopted by the man's son. Mr. Lee would like to get the cats adopted. While he misses his cat and was sad for quite a while when she ran away, he doesn't want to take care of the kittens.

Sasha is the bravest of the 3 kittens. When I first tried to get close to them, I put a treat out but only Sasha would come close to me and eat it. After a few moments, she seemed quite comfortable but the other two were still staying way back. As you can see, Sasha has lovely little white spots like teardrops around her eyes. The thing that enchanted me the most were her beautiful gray-green eyes.

The kittens are not feral, but they are not domesticated either. The kittens spend all day playing and around the very kind Mr. Lee, and have since their birth, and they will now come up to him when he calls them. They will need some extra care to get settled as the lucky lottery winners of a loving home.

One of the ARK regulars made some suggestions: one was that a cat who hasn't lived inside and been totally domesticated could become more fully domesticated if they were adopted into a home where there was another calm, older cat who could "show her the ropes." Or if two of them were adopted together, that could help them thrive and adjust, too. I moved into Mr. Lee's back apartment when they were about 6 weeks old, so they see but are afraid of me. Am working on that and they are becoming braver since Mama Cat left.

Sasha has not been vaccinated or had the routine testing, and unfortunately I do not have the means to do it as this time. If you have another cat at home, Sasha could have the tests for panleukopenia or another disease, and then quarantined at a vet's until the tests come back.

Please email me with any and all questions.

(Required adoption fee of 50,000 will be used to test the other kitten(s) and any of remaining money will be donated to Daejeon Paws to help pay for the roof that needs fixing.)

I'm shocked as all the kittens have been adopted in less than 24 hours. Two Korean families spoke with the elderly Korean man yesterday asking to adopt one of the kittens after weeks of no interest. My landlord changed his mind, I think with the prospect of being cat-less, and decided to adopt the remaining kitty.
