Moving to Daegu from USA

Seeking advice about moving with my two cats from the USA to Daegu this summer. I seem to have most of the importation information as the websites are clear and I have a good vet helping me here. However, searching in English, I have not been able to find out the current days of operation and work hours of the animal quarantine at Incheon airport. Does anyone know if coming in on a connecting flight from the US, the cats would go through quarantine in Seoul or it would wait until we got to Daegu? Korean air seems to think so. If so then I would need the business hours and working days for the animal quarantine at the Daegu airport. Or would there be a choice depending on the transition time? Finding an airline that takes the cats during summer and for such a long flight and arrives during business hours is not easy!

Sorry, I don't know the answer to your question. According to this very old forum thread (2009), the Incheon airport quarantine office is open 9AM to 6PM:

I would hope that your airline would be able to tell you everything definitively, but it might be best to call the airports as well to double check.

The Incheon Airport website provides these telephone numbers:

Incheon International Airport (Passenger Terminal): 82-32-740-2660~1
Daegu Airport: 82-53-982-5096

And I don't know if it's current, but the Korea National Tourism Organization lists the number for the Incheon International Airport Quarantine Office as (032-740-2660~2).

Hope that helps!

I don't know if I am too late for you, but I recently came over to Korea with a cat and had the same questions. We arrived pretty late at the airport and right after you pick up your luggage you go to walk out and they will direct you to an area to the right. Someone is always there and it was very uneventful. They looked through our paperwork and we were cleared to go. My email is [email protected] if you have any more questions!
