If you have a car and international driver's license, consider volunteering to transport an animal, for example, from a shelter to foster care elsewhere in Korea, or to her new adoptive home. This is especially helpful for larger dogs who can be difficult to travel with using public transportation.
Even without a car, if you have free time and like to travel you can help deliver an animal to a foster or forever home by subway, bus, train, or even ferry.
On occasion, overseas rescue groups have taken in special needs animals to provide care that is unavailable in Korea. As well, pet guardians sometimes have to leave Korea on short notice or during seasonal airline embargo periods, making it impossible for them to bring their pet home at that time. If you are flying back to your home country and are willing to add a fur-friend to your in-cabin or checked luggage allowance, you can reunite a family or give an animal new hope.
Get in touch with an animal shelter via the contact information provided in their profile page on ARK, or post a message on ARK's Facebook page to let people know you are willing to help.
