Pet Sit

Pet Sitting in Korea

Holidays and summer vacation are naturally the most popular times when people travel, but pet sitters are needed throughout the year for a weekend or a few weeks at a time. Helping out a foster parent or fellow pet guardian is a great way to build some karma points before you take a vacation and need a pet sitter of your own.

Things to Consider

  • Discuss a fee, if any, for the service up front before the animal arrives
  • Ask for a deposit in case unexpected medical expenses arise
  • Have enough of the animal's familiar food or a deposit in case the food runs out
  • Share more than one piece of contact information with the animal's guardians
  • Get a copy of health records and the contact information of the animal's regular vet in case of emergency
  • Make sure dogs and cats are wearing an ID tag on their collar
  • Make sure all animals are spay/neutered and up-to-date on vaccinations if you have other pets in the house or plan to walk a dog outside
  • Always use a leash when bringing a dog outside and take extra precautions to prevent cats from escaping-- animals may be nervous in a new environment or with new people and might try to run away
