I went to my vet years ago and for like 8,000 won had dog tags engraved with my husband's name, his cell# and our vet's name and address. Last year, when they got too worn, they were replaced. Why people do not do this simple task so if their animal wanders off, the owner can be called is beyond me. That young woman was darn lucky - her dog hadn't been put down or adopted.

I also have pet ID for my dog, and it was pretty reasonably priced. However, it's a dangling type of tag and I think it's more liable to get caught on things and possibly get torn off. I hear boomerang tags are much better.

Microchipping your pet can be a lifesaver as well.

I am glad they were reunited and perhaps the owner will look into pet ID in the future because of this.
