I thought I would re-start this thread as there was a bit of slightly confusing information about Leila posted previously.

Leila came from the Daejeon dog shelter, when we took her out of the shelter and into foster care she had one bad eye (she had a condition in that eye whereby she couldn't produce any tears, so it dried up). We had to have the eye surgically removed - her other eye is fine though.

She has been staying with me for the past month or so and she is just a wonderful happy dog. She loves going for a walk, gets on really well with my other dogs Flower, Mama and Scooter and (surprisingly) my two cats. She is now completely house trained: even though Mama goes to the toilet on the pee pads in the bathroom Leila will always wait until I come home and only goes to the toilet outside. She will wait for me all day while I'm at work and I can't even remember last time she had had an accident inside the apartment.

She is spayed and is up-to-date wth her immunisation shots. Our vets estimate she is 4-5 years old.

There must be someone out there who is looking for a happy, healthy, friendly, house-trained one-eyed shih tzu?

If so please contact me at tim.vasudeva@gmail.com or my mobile -010 8940 5233, I am in Hannam-dong (very close to the Itaewon main street).

Leila looks so cute with her hair long! I am really happy to hear that she is doing well with you, Tim. I think of her often. I hope she finds her "forever" home soon!

Hi
I sent Leila's story to some Shihtzu rescue group organizations in the USA.... hopefully they will get in contact and have someone who wants to adopt her. Keep our fingers crossed!:) I have been following Leila's story for so long I really want to help find her a forever home.

:rolleyes:My family took Leila home yesterday, and we absolutely adore her! She fits in so perfectly here with us. She is getting so much love and adoration! I have three older kids who have been all taking turns loving on her and she politely goes from person to person allowing them to love her. What a special girl she is. We gave her a really good bath yesterday and she is all brushed and combed and white and caramel and soft and beautiful, she just prances around. I will send pictures soon, my digital camera gas decided the lens will no longer open, some child sat on it or something :(. But my Husband will be here this weekend. She loves the baby too.

That's awesome! Leila waited so long to find the perfect home and it sounds like she succeeded magnificently. Yay! :)

A quick note to let everyone who has been following Leila's story know that Jackie & Evan and their family are really happy with Leila, so much so that they want to foster another shih tzu from the shelter! Their kids are enjoying having a dog so much that they think it would be better to have 2 to share it around :)

So I picked up Happy the shih tzu (see below pics) from the Daejeon shelter on Saturday, he will be joining Leila next weekend :)

I received the below update from Jackie today:

'Happy' has a new name, his new name is 'August', and we are all doing fine. Leila is a precious angel. She was a bit slow, so we checked on her feet, and under her fur on her feet her skin was irritated. So the vet gave us the stuff to start taking care of that and she's so happy about it! She'll be keeping up with the big dogs soon!!

Our little pirate passed away last week...

She became ill two days ago, having trouble breathing and Candy rushed her to the hospital. Her heart had become very enlarged. They thought she may only have a few months left but yesterday she seemed to be doing much better and they were optmisitic. Candy just called and left me a message telling me that she had passed away during the night. She is devasted Leila meant the world to her. I am so sorry but if it helps just know that Leila was loved dearly and treated like a princess. No one could have loved her more, I am just sorry that they didnt have more time together.

Go run now little one~
We are glad you found your perfect match and found happiness before passing. We love you~

:(
My children and I had the privileged of knowing and loving this lovely animal. She had such a gentle spirit. She was very calm and kind. Some of the pictures are of her in our home.

We could not keep her in Korea due to the fact that the place was just so bad for her skin. I had heard updates saying that she was doing better in her new home.

I am so sad that she has passed away. I know she had a hard time for so long time. I am sorry for her momma's loss... I'm so happy that the two of you had found each other though...

I hope she is now free someplace wonderful....

Goodnight my sweet friend.
