Hi everyone,

as some of you may know, I took the disabled kitty as a foster. Since he needs help to urinate about 3 times a day, we use A LOT of toilet paper. A dear friend of mine gave me a ton of soft clean rags. I thought about using them instead of toilet paper in order to help the environment. However, the required quantity of rags also implies a lot of laundry...I am not sure anymore which option is the most ecological one. I used recycled paper, while the laundry uses soap, a bit of bleach, water, and electricity....Well, I guess I am answering my own question, but let me know what you think.
Thanks!

What's wrong with diluted bleach for cleaning crates and dishes? Also, when I had a fungal-infection cat I had to clean everything with bleach to get rid of the spores.

I wouldn't use it when my pets are in the room because I know it's bad for the respiratory system, but is there something else I should worry about?

Annie, I would choose for the recycled-tissue option. I used to use spare rags while housebreaking dogs, but yes it would take so many rags to clean and letting them sit around while I waited for a full load created toxic odours... Really nasty.

Hm, would it be safe to compost the used tissue? I'll ask my dad. (Composting toilets may not be available in Korea yet :) )
