Don't click the link to the KARAMA website, I think they have some sort of virus. When I try visit the KARAMA site, I get the following warning:

This web site at www. karama . or . kr has been reported as an attack site and has been blocked based on your security preferences.

Attack sites try to install programs that steal private information, use your computer to attack others, or damage your system.

Some attack sites intentionally distribute harmful software, but many are compromised without the knowledge or permission of their owners
I hope it gets fixed soon, as many animals rely on those listings to get adopted or found by their owners!

For now, I'm going to remove the links to KARAMA's website from this site, but if anyone finds any more let me know. I've posted it in a few different places.

Did it ever get cleaned up? It must have, because my Norton's is not giving the Trojan virus warning anymore.

Here's the latest Google diagnostic (http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://karama.or.kr/).

Update: Google's 7/17/2008 diagnostic (http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://www.karama.or.kr/community_7.asp?BbsNo=&page=1&SearchField=&addr_id=&SearchkindName=&SearchkindName_etc=&SearchWords=) says that "over the past 90 days, 17 page(s) resulted in malicious software being downloaded and installed without user consent".

Firefox still won't let me access KARAMA's site, but Safari doesn't block me.

No, not the only one. I could access it but I got the Trojan virus several times but my Norton's kept reporting and cleaning it up. Hopefully!

Karen see the tiny font message "Ignore this warning"? You can click it access the page. I get this warning too when I use Firefox 3 (not 2). I am not sure if this infection happens only when using IE.

Hi all,

Since Karama's website seems to still be having problems, but I realize many people want to share important info on animals from that site, could you please do the following:

1) Disable the links that you post. How?

> When posting a message, look just below the box of icons, there is a section called "Miscellaneous Options".

>Two boxes are automatically checked. Uncheck the box for "Automatically parse links in text".

>You will have to do this every time you edit your post.

>The option does not appear in "Quick Reply" mode.

>If the link is still active, you may have to edit again, highlight the link, click "remove link" (the Xed-out link icon), and repeat the other steps just mentioned.

2) Get permission to crosspost photos.

It's best to get permission to post KARAMA's photos by emailing KARAMA.

It would be also helpful for the KARAMA website administrator to know that some people are having problems viewing their site.

Thanks!

My browser is still blocking the KARAMA site. Here is the most recent Google diagnostic (http://safebrowsing.clients.google.com/safebrowsing/diagnostic?client=Firefox&hl=en-US&site=http://karama.or.kr/).

I'm assuming Karma knows about this? Has anyone tried to clean it up or has it been repeatedly infected?

Thanks for any info. This could be discouraging and affect adoptions from Karma.:(

It looks like I'm now able to access the KARAMA site!

Has anyone else who once had trouble now getting access as well? I hope so!

Oops! Did this before. When I copy it from my file it's truncated or something. So I had to open it and get it from the top. Try this one :):

The second link works for me now, thanks :)

The first one didn't work because I guess you had copied the "..." as part of the URL.

The second one only has the "..." in the presentation (that's how the forum software shows it), but the full URL is there "behind the scenes", where you entered the information into the post.

I hope that makes sense!

just a quick question... how long are dogs kept at karama before they are killed?

Ryan
07-12-2009, 09:09 PM
usually 10 days. however, healthy animals they may keep a little longer, but sick ones they usually euthanize after 10.

ok I thought it was 10 days but was surprised to see dogs on the website that have been there since June. It's good that they are on the web page longer gives them a longer chance of getting adopted
