Hi there,

Last November, a couple adopted an adorable yorkshire from the shelter. He is about 8 years old and a sweet little loving thing who apparently never disturbs.

His parents are going home, but don't have anywhere to go to, so would prefer waiting before bringing the dog with them (no friends could take him back home either):

we are migrating to canada but at this moment we have no job we don't know where we will stay and we have to settle down and for that we are not sure at all where we will stay.

I desperately want to take our dog . i can't imagine to leave it there. but in this condition it seems impossible to take it. we decided that first we will go and find a proper job and staying place and then bring the dog from here.

and i asked many of my friends but no 1 seems interested in dogs as they are also students mostly.

me and my husband decided that we want to find a fostering or sitting place for our dog in korea and as soon as we get our job and apartment we will bring it to us in canada. and i dont see any1 who can help me. can u find a foster/sitting place for it and make an arangment so that we can bring it to us in canada once we are settled there? we will pay all the travel costs for our dog. They are leaving quite soon, but will board Jhapu if needed while finding him a sitting place. We don't know how long the sitting will have to be, but any help is welcome.

Please contact me if you can help!
Thank you

If they're just going to board him here why not just board him in Canada and save money on flying him there later?

I agree, it would be simpler and possibly cheaper for them board him in their city where they're going.

When are they leaving? My brother lives in [city deleted], so I can ask him if he'd be interested in dog-sitting. The thing is, he's visiting me in Montreal from the 28th until July 4th.

Well, they were going to board him in Korea if a sitter could take him a little after their flight. They would obviously prefer for someone to look after their pet.

Karen, that would be awesome! Let me know!

Here is some background info about Jhapu!

He loves to run and whenever he has a chance, he will run like a racing dog. Unfortunately, a month ago, Jhapu had a severe leg accident. But, he received surgery and medications. All the treatments are done, so it's simply a matter of time now before he can fully walk again. So, whenever he is taken out, we have to be careful as he loves to run, but can't put too much pressure on his leg yet.

Apart from that, Jhapu is just an adorable little thing. He is now at the Emart vet in Daejeon with his food and all.

Can someone help?

My brother's lease doesn't allow pets. When his visit here ends next week, he'll talk to his coworkers and see if anyone can help. Sorry.

Okay,
Jhapu's owners found a place to stay that allows dogs. They are ready to get him home!

Jhapu is still being boarded at a vet clinic in Daejeon. His weak leg is not doing well from being in a cage all the time and he has a minor ear infection which is also causing him discomfort :(

Jhapu needs a temporary sitter while arrangements are made for his trip back home to reunite with his parents. Can anyone offer him a home for a short time?

How long? I can take him for a short time. I live in Seoul though. Would some one be able to bring him to me? Do you think he would get along with Soju (Panda)?

Hi MissLizzy3107,
thank you so much for the offer! I have someone who offered, but I need to confirm the details (why I didn't update the post).
I will keep you in mind if it falls through.
Thanks again!

is the dog still here in korea??

i don't understand. if these people really wanted to keep the dog then they would have shipped it over to canada with them and found boarding facilities there, until they had sorted themselves out with jobs/accomodation. mark my words, this poor little dog will be up for adoption very soon.

Hi Rob***,
I know....But they left within 5 days, so they had no time to get the papers done and all. I don't know why they had to leave so shortly...

I am doing my best to make sure Jhapu will go home, but I'm worried too. Let's just hope for the best!

Hi. Jhapu, or Old Dog as I call him, is chillin at my house until things get settled with his owners.

Thanks Annie for the email about what to do with him. I first tried to feed him Soju's food but he was having such a hard time chewing it. So afterwards I soaked it in water and he gobbled it up. That was until Soju came in and stole it from him.

He is such a cute little bed warmer, although he smells terrible. Like a dirty old man.

hahah!
thanks so much for your help! I'm glad to hear he is a happy doggy.
Sorry for the smell though, but after a month in a cage... :D
