Hi all

A lot of people have asked me whether I know of dog boarding facilities that I can recommend for medium-term (or possibly longer) boarding (when people have to travel etc).

My vet Dr Kwon (from the Mari Animal Hospital in Dongyo-dong, Mapo-gu) has a good friend who has recently opened a dog boarding and training camp in Ansung-city (Kyeonggi province).

I haven't visited their facility myself yet, but I am told by Dr Kwon that the accommodation is very good and the camp also has large fenced grassed areas for the dogs to run around. The camp also offers training facilities for dogs that require a little bit of help with some of the basics :) Their website is http://www.dog09.net/

So to assist people who would like to inspect the boarding facility and to allow people to speak to the dog trainers, the Mari Animal Hospital has arranged a trip to the camp on Saturday 7 June. The bus for the camp will leave from Itaewon at 10am (see attached flyer).

We would love for you to join us next Saturday, if you would like to come along please contact me at tim.vasudeva@gmail.com or call me on 010 8940 5233 if you would like more information. We need to know by Wednesday the 4th at the latest so we can organise transport and lunch.

I hope you can join us on Saturday the 7th!

The trip to the Daejeon shelter will be on Sunday the 8th of June this week, as we will be visiting the Sungwon facility on Saturday.

Cheers
Tim

Hi Tim (and everyone), I've already sent Dr. Kwon my application form and registered for the picnic. Bangsiri will be there!

I'm curious to know if this place offers any live-in training programs for difficult dogs? Bangsiri definitely isn't a candidate, but I may know someone whose dog could benefit from professional training. (Unfortunately they can't attend the picnic.) Anyway, I'll ask my questions on Saturday and I'm sure it will be a great day for Bangsiri and all of us.

Where exactly in Itaewon is the bus picking us up?

Outside the fire station on the main street of Itaewon (next to the petrol station, just up the hill from the Hamilton Hotel but on the other side of the road).

Anyone who gets a bit lost on Saturday can call me on 010 8940 5233

How was it? Does anyone know how I can get more information? I wasn't able to go to the picnic but am interested in knowing if it is a viable option for boarding.

Hi peanut,

Sorry, the info got all dispersed. There are some pictures of the place posted here (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/forums/showthread.php?t=690) and a little more written about it in this thread (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/forums/showthread.php?t=720). The info written is mainly about training, I don't think anything's been said about boarding yet.

Does anyone know if, for both training and boarding, the dogs stay in cages most of the time or can they run around free a bit, or do they have pens?
