Animal Name : unknown
City/Location : Gangnam/Yeoksam Seoul
Breed : unknown, maybe a mix
Sex : female
Spayed / Neutered : unknown
Age : ~6
Size : ~15 lbs.
Health status/ vaccinations : not certain
Behaviour/Personality : quiet, does not bark, wants to be loved
Rescue story : I found her behind exit 7 of Gangnam Station. I couldn't leave her on her own, so I took her to a nearby Animal hospital. However, the vet says that he cannot keep her more than 3 days and that he will have to send her to an animal shelter outside of Seoul where she will certainly be euthanized within a week. Please help!! I cannot raise her because I live in a sublet with strict pet rules. She only has a few days...

Hi Charles,

Thanks so much for helping this lost dog!

I moved your thread here into the Fostering forum because this is an emergency, not really an adoption listing. Adoptions take more than three days :(

You do not need to specify an adoption fee or donation; foster homes do not need to pay a fee. You can edit that out of your post.

Do you have any photos you can post of her? Here are instructions (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/forums/showpost.php?p=18134&postcount=4).

Also, here are some ideas on how to find the owners of a stray (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/forums/showthread.php?t=2860). Have you tried putting up posters in the area where you found her, or checking the Lost and Found Animals in Korea site: http://www.angel.or.kr/ ?

Charles, any luck finding her owner or someone who can help?

Can anyone recommend a vet in this area that boards rescues (and gives them longer than the minimum 10 days)? Is the Dr. Pet (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/forums/showthread.php?t=1592) clinic in this area?

Thanks for the followup. Unfortunately, she has been diagnosed with heartworm. The vet believes she may have had it for over a year. Good news is that even though they are a small animal hospital, he has decided to treat her for free. He says that since there are so few cases of heartworm in the Gangnam area, this could be a learning experience for some of his workers. He has decided to keep her and treat her, which can take about a month. However, given her late stage in heartworm, there is a 50% chance she will not make it. I hope for the best. If she does survive and is cured, then she must find an owner afterwards.

Wow, that's so awesome for the clinic to treat her for free. Heartworm treatment is really expensive.

Please keep us posted about how she's doing, if you can. I just love her innocent face and hope she pulls through.

She's very very lucky she found you!
