I've adopted three animals after seeing them on this website, and I figured it would probably be a good idea to post a little update on them.
First, I read a thoroughly heartbreaking post about the number of sick kittens at the Daejeon shelter last July. And I'm a sucker. So I marched to the Busan train station and went up to Daejeon where I took four kittens. To make a long story short, they were very sick and only two survived (sorry to be sad) but I decided to adopt the little rascals. I'll post their pictures from when I first got them and then also when they started looking healthy.
I named them Gilbert (I call him gillyweed) and Simon (God bless him, I call him simple cat). Gil is the tri-colored one and Simon is the Siamese mix.
Then 7 months later I decided to foster then adopt one of Cleo's pups, Winnie. (Also, I got the pleasure of loving on Cleo for a while...I miss her.) I changed Winnie's name and now I call her Scout. She was much luckier than my cats because she grew up in a wonderful foster home filled with love and never had to be on the street or in a shelter. Which is interesting, because it means she's just crazy and has no reason to be as shy as she is. She's scared of many things. Her particular dislikes are people, high heels, doorbells, vacuums, plastic bags, wind, when I take a bath, and toddlers. Oh yeah, she's that special! She's getting better all the time, and we love her for being so unique :D
Luckily, all my animals ADORE each other. I have to rig the bathroom door when I leave for work (I keep pup in there while I'm working sometimes) because the cats missed her so much they learned how to open the door. They all snuggle with me when I sleep, greet me at the door when I come home, and follow me around the apartment. They are my family, and though getting them home is going to be a headache, I can't wait for the cats to have more rooms to explore and for Scout to have her own yard to run around in!
Thanks so much to the people on this website. Without this website I wouldn't have these three trouble makers....and I shudder to think how my life would be. I'm never lonely or bored, which is pretty impressive considering how far away from home I am now. :D so thanks ARK!!!
