Summer is coming up and most dogs will need grooming to enjure hot weather.
When you go to the groomer, make sure that they won't make your dog too ugly.
I noticed that grooming is adverticed among vets to convince people that ''it is
cleaner'' though this is not true.
Reason to groom is not because hair is dirty ,some dogs as poodles and malteses, schnauzers don't shed but sometimes they need grooming to ''shape''
or because it gets too hot or skin problems. Still NO reason to give them all a
''poodle cut''

They groom all dogs ''the poodle cut''in Korea which is very ugly to other breeds,
like shaving the tale for a part or shaving around the mouth and shaving ears.
try to tell them only to groom the body because some parts of the body like ears,
tale and mouth, grow slower than the body part.

Many people in the street ask me what breeds my dogs are unless they come from the groomer and look like this, this is how they recognize a maltese.

My dog is very unhappy and won't walk with a haircut like that. His face show that he
rather cry than walking around. I am really not kidding. After that haircut which happen
twice,he won't walk and he won't play in the house either.

I groom the dogs by myself now, a clipper is only about 40.000won and after a few times trying you can really get handy.
Long hair

Clipping them short but still make them comfi with the haircut.

groomers in korea claim that it is not possible to groom this length but they do sell the
7 or 9mm clipper and I am using it, I don't know why they only clip the 3 or 5mm and make
the dogs feel misserable.

yea its true... they do that because the only lengh that they have are 1mm which is used for the paws and the 3mm and 5mm which is most commonly used amongst groomers for the body, and the type that they use its really hard to find the comb clip which helps the fur get cut in a longish lenght.
haha.

Hey Sarah, I bought my clipper at Emart I think and on the online shopping
malls they sell the right combinations. I got mine 2years ago.
You can clip the hair without shaving it and you can slip the hair between
the toes with the 1mm, the professional groomers should use that as well
and they can earn money from me again :D

Buy a clipper and try it out :D
Though if you are really not handy or confident, you can't do it
by yourself.Maybe just tell them not to touch the tale and the ears?
My dog wanted to hide and I promised him it would never ever happen
again ;)

hahaha Yeah.
I like Cocker's with longer fur on their ears and legs... Louise is still growing out her fur from the last butchering. I think I'll hold off before I do any damage myself. haha
