Hello,
My name is John Michael and I recently arrived in Korea and work in Anjung-ni. Within a month my wife will arrive as well my three month-old daughter and the other love of our life, our Molly. Molly is a rare breed we found by pure happenstance from a friend of a friend in Texas. She is a Ratonero Bodeguero Andaluz, or so we have guessed from what little information her previous owners and our vet has told us. Nevertheless, I'm sure that when my wife arrives in country she would love to do what she can and extend our family with another small dog, maybe a cat, that would be a good companion for our companion Molly. I could not locate on your website your location nor your adoption policies. Also, I was wondering if any of your dogs were house broken and if you had any puppies. Any information you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

John- Most of the animals on this site are from a shelter in Daejeon that is being shut down. Tim and Annie (two expats here in Korea) organize trips to the shelter every weekend. I don't know where your location is in Korea so I don't know how far you are from Daejeon. You can either go to the shelter one weekend or adopt a dog that is currently being fostered (which are listed in the "dogs" section of the site).

Best of luck!

Hi John, welcome to the site!

More info about adoption can be found on this page (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/index.php?pageid=adopt). We don't have a physical shelter; the animals in the adoptable pet listings are either in foster care, in Korean shelters, or being boarded at clinics, therefore each story is different and you will have to check with the person who listed them to know more details about their case.

There are many cats (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=11) and dogs (http://www.animalrescuekorea.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=7) available including some who are not listed. For example, as alibuch mentioned, the Daejeon shelter has over 100 dogs and not all of their photos/bios are on the site so it would be best to go visit them if you want to see who all is there.

That said, there are many furfriends already listed and new ones get listed every week. I'm sure you can find a nice friend to join your family :)

Thanks so much for wanting to adopt and save a life!
