Hello,
I have a dog that I try to walk twice a day... Once in the morning and once at night... If I do this, he won't go to the bathroom in the house all day... EXCEPT for one late night pee.. which he does around midnight or so when I'm asleep... sometimes I oversleep in the morning and he pees in the house....

All this is fine because we trained him to go on some paper (we use those doggy diaper sheets) in the bathroom... The only problem is that he'll miss the paper from time to time... maybe 1 out of 4 attempts... he'll stick his head and front paws on the paper and go... 1/2 the pee will make the paper and the other 1/2 on the bathroom floor... it doesn't matter HOW many sheets I lay down.. he seems to avoid peeing in the middle... he's always looking for the edge...

I can't really punish him.. b/c he's technically trying to go on the paper... what should I do?

You are one lucky person to me. You have a well trained dog.
There is always a drain in the bathroom, use a ''squeegee'' (to
clean windows )and clean the pee. Its not a big deal.
I don't use the pad in the bathroom,my female dog do it on the
bathroom floor when I am not at home,I just clean it up and
clean after with bleach,no problem.
