Fire in Busan (http://www.koreaherald.com/national/Detail.jsp?newsMLId=20101001000621)

The report says it started at 11:30 a.m. (when most people are at work). No word on how many nonhuman animals may have been living there or how many got out safely. :(

Hi there,

I live in Busan and my vet is literally in the building next to the building that caught on fire. She took in a lot of the animals that were left home all day and was boarding them for their owners while they were at hotels. I asked and was told that nobody was hurt and the damage was mostly to the outside and the inside was ok. I'm not sure how accurate that is, but I believe it's right. I don't think there were any animals that died because of the fire. Dr. Kim is absolutely lovely, as well, and I know she took REALLY good care of them when they got to her.

:) Thank God, right?

I'm glad to hear that ... the pictures looked really bad, and I assumed the apartments would be locked during the day and that no one would go inside to check for animals. It shows that you're not necessarily safe even in a modern building with a sprinkler system and fire extinguishers. But I agree that vet is great for helping.
