I took a visiting friend to the Daejeon City Shelter today, my first visit since the early summer.
I was impressed with their recent renovations, and a number of workers there, ripping up newspaper to line the new, spacious green kennels.
Most of the small dogs were outside in fenced kennel areas, enjoying the nice day. The larger dogs (mostly Jindos) have a kennel area now, although they don't all get along.
The cats have a great new area with places to climb and perch.
All animals seem to have ID tags and are colour-coded with scarves. Fences are new or repaired.
I have posted photos here (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=213013&id=501939772&l=00a7e809a8), since the ARC site is freezing up when I try to upload.
I encourage anyone who's interested to take some free time for a trip out there to walk the dogs, and let the workers know how much it has improved. Feel free to contact me if you need directions; I might even come along!
