Caramel ADOPTED!!:o:):o Well after another incident with my daughter despite my attempts at training (and the water bottle thing works wonders to make her back away and stop jumping) my wife has found Caramel a new home. The gentleman is very nice and he is also single so no worries about small children. He came yesterday and spent about an hour playing with her and then came back this morning and spent some more time before finally making up his mind that he would take her home. He was so excited and seemed to revel in the fact that she was rowdy and loved to play. i just want to thank you all for the advice and help you gave.
Although we couldn't keep her like we had originally planned, I feel very happy to have fostered her for a few weeks until we found someone who could keep her. At least she wasn't euthinized (which was the plan the day I adopted her). I am sad to see her go but happy now that she has found her new home.
Also my wife and I have been discussing the possibilities of finding a dog that will fit our family. I know there are many dogs for adoption/fostering on this site and even a few that I think may be good for us. With that said if any of you are aware of a dog that is GOOD with children, not destructive inside the house, and preferably housebroken(pads are good but outside is better) please contact me. I think we would do better with a mature small dog to medium dog in our apartment. Nothing more than 10-15kg unless very well behaved. We love large dogs but our apartment manager is a bit sceptical about even the small ones so unless the dog is an angel we should stick to the little guys.
This may sound like a lot to ask for and it is but I would rather find the right dog for us than find a dog that we have to re-home after a few weeks because he/she doesn't fit our family. At any rate if you are fostering this perfect little guy then let me know and we can set up a meeting.
Thanks
Lewis
