if you live in haebongchon, yongsan, itaewon, hannam area and you are large and playful like me, i would love to hear from you. we can run around and play fetch together and just get to know each other. I am very lonely in korea because people are afraid to let any other dogs play with me because of my size. i have become very friendly with people and would love to have a friend i could run with since my owner is too slow. if you are this dog, please email me at octavia1975@hotmail.com.
i will be waiting here with a toy in my mouth panting..
yours truly,
lovable loner (aka vincent)

Hi
My neighbour Harry here in Hannam-dong has a German Shepherd named Cello that he walks up at Namsan Park regularly - he said he would be happy to go walking with you regularly.
Give him a call - his mobile is 010 5102 2253

So is the hannam/itaewon area large dog friendly? I have had Panda here 3 days and already people are complaining about him. Not because he barks too much (he hardly barks at all) or that he is bad or mean (super sweet) but because he is big. That is the only reason. So I need to look at my options in case they tell me get rid of him or move. And by options I mean other living arrangements for the both of us.
Hey Tim. I live in Yongson area and would love to either have a play date between Vincent and Panda (Soju). or I would love to take him running with me a few times a week. My puppy is too lazy to walk 2 blocks let alone run. Let me know.

Hello Misslizzy.
If I were you I'd consider it a compliment if people stayed away from my dog. I met Panda and he is people friendly. There are some people who are terrified by spiders and others by cockroaches. Unless they were attacked by spiders (widow spiders) and/or cockroaches these fears are unreasonable. It is the same with dogs. BTW Panda is currently just the size of a Cocker Spaniel. Tell them to stop being scaredy cats.
I've seen a Rottweiler, a Great Dane, a GSD, quite a few Golden Rets, Jindos and a list of other medium/large breeds in the Itaewon area.
Side note please do not make Panda run before he is 12-14 months old. You do not want to put undue stress on the bones of a large breed pup.

I have seen pictures of Panda and he is a cutie. Unfortunately you will always get people here that don't mind their own business and will complain about your dog constantly. We have lived with Vincent in our apartment for 6 months and the people in our building are constantly complaining about him to our door man but they allow dogs in our apartment so all their complaining won't get them anywhere. It can take a toll on you though and it was really getting to me for awhile because of the negativity towards us but now i don't care and turn the other cheek. My dog is the most affectionate dog i have ever had but they will never give him the chance. You will see a lot of larger dogs in this area and a lot of the younger generation are interested and show kindness towards the dogs but it is the handful of older ones that make everyone seem like they hate dogs because they are the most vocal. I say the more big dogs the better because there is a real lack of dog knowledge or "dog etiquette" that many people have in korea so it is good to socialize dogs and people here.
I would love to go walking with you..Vincent and I walk every evening around Namsan, War Memorial or Yongsan Park. It is too hot during the day to take him for long walks so he will go out briefly and he runs on our treadmill. If you are up for walking at night give me a text or call 010-8688-6281. My dog is still a puppy so he has TONS of energy!!
