Animal Name : Hairy :p
City/Location : Daegu
Breed : Maybe pomeranian
Sex : male
Spayed / Neutered : adopters responsibility
Age : puppy
Size : very small
Health status/ vaccinations : appears healthy, vaccines will be adopters responsiblity
Behaviour/Personality : Very happy bouncy puppy. Dog friendly and people friendly. Just your typical energetic puppy.
Rescue story : Came to KAPS looking just like he is, but not with a worry in the world. He is hoping for a forever family asap. Or at least a foster willing to help him get his coat back.
Adoption fee: *50,000 KRW if you would like to use your vet to neuter
*100,000 KRW if you would like us to neuter him for you.
He came to KAPS pretty much skint, he doesnt itch and otherwise is very happy, poor guy doesnt know he's ugly right now ;) Dont know what it is, I just know that he needs someone open minded willing to do what it takes to help his hair grow back.
We are thinking he is a pomeranian. But we know he is still a puppy, happy and bouncing. Not sure about the skin yet, if it is allergies or mange. WOULD LOVE to find someone that cares enough to help him get his coat back.

I'm not a vet... but it doesn't look as though its either mange nor allergies... It looks (to me) as though someone burned the poor thing. I havnt seen the dog in person, but it looks as though the fur wont go back? The skin looks as though its smooth and healed? Again, i'm not vet... but that's what he looks like to me... Any vets out there..?

No vet either, but it looks like it could be malnutrition. I believe it could still grow. The patches would make me believe so.

I am with you Annie, I hope to get him to a vet. But you are right the patches of hair that is already starting to grow back are healthy. Another volunteer at KAPS experienced the same degree of no hair when she adotped her shihtzu. She said she looked the same way, but after changing her diet etc that her allergies went away and her hair came back.
Plus, as happy and bouncy as this pup is, I hope to get a video Sat :D, I dont think he has experienced anything as dramatic as whole body burns. If he did, I dont think he would have had the necessary attention given, to help him heal, why would someone give you help after nursing him back sorta thing. Afterall the skin is the first line of defense against disease, and if the skins is damage/broken then disease is most likely...and being that he is not sick, and his skin looks healthy despite no hair...leads me to believe he just needs someone to care.
thanks for the inputs though!

May be bad nutrition.. but I don't think it's allergies... I have a dog with SEVERE allergies, the only thing she really isnt allergic to is Salmon. If it was allergies the first part of her hair to go would be her feet as biting of the feet is one of the first signs.. And his skin would be bright red.. not blackened. Again,i'm not a vet but this is from my experience.
I've seen dogs in Korea being brutally abused(it's been quite 'popular' now-a-days) through TV and UCC's. Most of them end up with blackish/pinkish scars and are hairless http://dogspeed.com/wp-content/uploads/2009/10/Mr.-Burns1.gif kind of like this guy, but if he was burned lightly(looks like he has long hair-someone may have put him out etc) then there would be a chance that he looks like that..?Again, I want to emphasize i'm not a vet so please don't take any of this information for granted.
Here is a picture of a dog with severe mange, as you can tell from incredible 'itchy-ness' his skin is red from continous scratching http://www.mange-in-dogs.com/img/demodecticmangedog.jpg
This is just my thought, I am not trying to scare anyone away~ I've actually had people adopt a dog with severe skin conditions - the girl now has a full length of hair and is beautiful.

Let this be a chance for someone to change this little girls life. (:

I see a beautiful little guy under all that balding. Looks like a pom but the nose is a bit heavy. Could it be a mix with....? http://www.google.com/search?q=chinese+crested&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7GGLL_en
The skin doesn't look bad. Even vets can't tell by a picture, as Reta's poodle-maltese was diagnosed with scabies on the first visit out of KARMA...but the military doctor did many scrapings and it was nothing...just dermatitis and dry skin. No bugs. A few baths was all it took to grow it out.
If someone used people shampoo on him, that could have damaged the skin as well. It's very drying compared to dog shampoo. I only use Johnson's baby shampoo on my dogs' faces.
Adoptbullies, is this the one who needed a sponsor? I could help with the 50,000 won I had for the yorkie. She's taken care of so if this one hasn't had shots yet, plz make sure he's taken care of with that and get him to the vet. He's sooo adoptable! That's all I can do for now as I still have to pay Dr. Choi.
Can Sunnan give the shots? I do my own here for just $6...all except rabies which is a legal matter.
PLZ help him.

And I have never seen fuzzy brown hair on a CC...but who knows at this point. :p

I do plan to help him, I am searching for a foster and I have contacted Sunnan about getting his shots. So I will keep you updated. thanks for offering to help him.
I wish I could find out exactly if we can do our own shots, as I too use to do them in TN before coming here...but this second language stuff gets hard sometimes ^^ Still searching for the answers.

I have bad news. The pomeranian didnt make it, it contracted a puppy disease died during the week. I feel terrible because something told me to take it home that day I met him. But I promised my husband that I wouldnt have more than 3 dogs in the house. I had one of my fostered adopted on Wednesday and was just waiting for the weekend to make it back to the shelter... I feel just awful because he was such a happy bouncy puppy I wanted to give it a second chance, but instead I failed him.

You didn't fail him. It happens. Think of it this way...you don't know what disease he had. It may have endangered your own dogs. But not to discourage bringing one home...just maybe have a quarantine area if you do.
Could you ask them what the symptoms were and get an idea of what he died from? I'd be curious anyway. But he looked so healthy in your photos although very chilly without hair. He needed a coat. Poor baby.:( Yep, I even miss him and we never met. Strange.:o
