I need advice on transporting a big dog from Seoul to Changwon (an hour south of Busan). How would I do this? I'm thinking of extending my contract and if I do he has to come out here. What is the safest way to get him here?

Well, by car would be the most comfortable way. Barring that, maybe KTX to Busan followed by car rental or a transport service?
When we left Korea we hired a call-van from Daejeon to Incheon airport for 2 humans + 2 dogs + crates and luggage. It was a 3.5 hour drive for maybe 150,000 won. We reserved them a week or so in advance and asked specifically if dogs were OK. Got the number of a few companies by loitering around the airport drop-off spot in our neighbourhood and jotting down the cell numbers on the side of the vans.

Does KTX allow big dogs? Where do they ride?

Yes they do, you should ask Tim, I am not sure where they put big dogs, but little/medium dogs can stay with you. But to be honest if you are going from Daejeon to Incheon I'd just pay the 200,000 to a taxi driver to get there it would be will worth the money, when you consider dogs, kennels, luggage.

There is a Dog Taxi company that I know of. We used it once for a domestic transport.
Fully air-conditioned and I remember that the fare was not too bad.
I can't find the number right now, but if you still need it you can msg me and tell me where you would like to transport your pet from and to where.
