Thanks to Dr. Choi, Ingrid and Bohemianvegan, eight Karma dogs were saved today ... I believe all these perfect angels are already on their way to permanent or foster homes.
Also, I finally met the beautiful white kitty who's waited so long to find her forever home because she's positive for feline leukemia, and I found out she's adopted. I also walked two adoptable dogs, Dweji the shih tzu and a sweet little white poodle who is full of energy. The poodle needs to work on walking nicely on a leash, but I think that's because he prefers to be carried everywhere. We spent a long time cuddling in a nearby coffee shop and he sat quietly in my lap, perfectly behaved. Many people on the street said he was cute and wanted to pet him.
I also met some dogs who are waiting to go overseas, including Luvadog's new baby.
I couldn't walk the little Yorkie from Karma because she's still recovering from a minor injury ... I found out the little dog was returned because she turned out to be bigger than she looked in the picture. She's not much bigger than Bangsiri (and Bangsiri is a lot more intimidating).
Ingrid and Bohemianvegan, it was nice talking to you both. I'm glad to see you've been able to help so many wonderful animals.

Does anyone know the address to Dr. Pet? I'd like to find it by plugging the address in my GPS. Also, do you know if there's a place to park?

Yes, there's 3 places to park. You pull up right in front of the clinic first. Unload, then take your car around to the back of the building where there's a loading ramp. Give his driver your keys if you go to lunch while you're there.
There's also a small space for about 6? cars just beside the clinic where I sometimes parked but not sure if that's his area. I left my car in the back when I went to Thailand for 5 days. There's a cute little neighborhood back there and places to walk the dogs and I think parking garages if he happens to be full. Or street parking beside or behind.
I had lunch across the street...dwanjung-jegay one day. Then discovered Burger King. ha. Not a good way to be a vegetarian.

Wow, that's great! You need to post them in Happy Tails. I wanna see them.

How's he doing? James said he was friendly. But they had to shave him. He's just like Toby so I know he must look like a bag of bones.

Is that Jack? But isn't Bangsiri tiny?
8!!! Wonderful!

Are those adoption days still happening officially? Is there anyone who goes there and screens people and all? None of us goes there, but maybe bohemianvegan or Ingrid?

I've gone two saturdays in a row and never saw much happening just regular customers etc. There are tons of great little animals that need more exposure to that they can be adopted though.

It's not too far from an SDA place that runs a veggie buffet (I think it's still vegan but haven't been there in a while). It's also a reasonable bus or taxi ride to Loving Hut (in case you're in the neighbourhood some time).

Sorry, Luvadog, I meant to reply to your other message but got kind of sidetracked:
1. I know eight dogs got out of Karma that day but I'm not sure where they're at now. Some may still be up for adoption. There were also a lot of diseases going around at that time and I worry that a few of the dogs may have gotten sick ... I hope Ingrid or Bohemianvegan will provide an update soon.
2. Luvadog, I haven't heard an update on your new adoptee lately ... is that adoption still happening? When do you expect him to arrive in the U.S.?
3. Yes, the little Yorkie from Karma was later named Jack, but I didn't know his name (or his sex) when I started the thread.
Bangsiri is a tiny little angel and that was kind of my point ... it's funny to hear of a Yorkie being rejected because he's "too big," but I guess the adopters had their hearts set on a teacup-sized dog. They're popular in my neighbourhood and sometimes Bangsiri towers over the other dogs when we go to the park. I guess this was a weird case of miscommunication, but hopefully Jack will find the right family soon.

The last time I spoke with Dr. Choi, he said Bohemianvegan was the current contact person. I believe Ingrid is still an active volunteer as well, but I haven't spoken to her lately. Honestly, I feel bad because I meant to sit down with Bohemian and Ingrid and write about the rescue program in depth, but then Ingrid's dogs got sick, Bohemian was moving, some of her rescues got sick too, I took Pedro from Asan, etc. ... the update unfortunately had to be put on the back burner.
Officially Saturday is still Adoption Day, but I know Dr. Choi is flexible and welcomes potential adopters almost any time. I'd contact Bohemianvegan for more information.

Maybe ask Bohemian about the possibility of organizing a special "adoption fair" on the first floor to show off selected animals more actively (obviously, only if this is OK with Dr. Choi)? Officially, Saturday is still Adoption Day but ordinary visitors could easily walk in and do their shopping without noticing.

OK, there are no real "adoption days" at Dr. Pet. People can come in to adopt a dog or cat any day. There are no special hours either, yet the bottom floor closes at 10 pm.
Having a special adoption day party would be a good idea though.
