My dog , a 1year and 8months old maltese has this and needed
surgery last friday.
He had to stay at the hospital for 3 days and today we took him
home.We are heartbroken because our baby has so much pain :(
He is crying all the time.
Cost of surgery is 490.000won
Recovery time will be at about 2months
After 2 months this little guy needs another surgery on the same
leg but the knee.
Many dogs in Korea are suffering from this because they keep on
breeding even when the parents are having problems.

Pukka, I'm so sorry that your baby is sick and has to have surgery, twice! I had no idea hip dysplasia hit small breeds, too :(

Very sad! I hope he's doing OK!

The vet said we could take him tonight so we did and on the
way home he was OK and quiet but he is not comfortable at
all when he lies down so he has been crying all the time from
pain.
Also his toungue has been hanging out almost all the time
and it scares me,like he has breathing problems.
Our house is not hot, just warm enough so I don't know why
his tounge is out all the time.

This is my most cheerful pet and seeing him crying really breaks
my heart and I wish I could help him :(
